i went thru tapia, i had a first interview that was 1x behavioral 1x technical (lc med-hard) and then final was ood
they had offer ready within like a day of final
Congrats!
thx!!
Hey, Congrats on the mastercard offer! I have the first round interview in 2 days and I am trying to prep the best I can for it. For your technical interview, was it more focused towards ds and how did you go about to prep for the interview?
yeah it was just leetcode
didnt have to run my code though
i got a pretty common hard but my interviewer was pretty forgiving
it was on notepad right? like you just code and talk through the solution?
yeah they had me open up an editor on my laptop and share my screen
gotchu, thanks!
congrats! how does the work location selection process look like?
recruiter told me they had arlington and st louis open rn
but could put me on a waitlist for sf nyc or boston
waitlists arent too long rn
they basically just asked me about location when i had the offer call and told me that
What does the offer look like, if you don't mind sharing? Plus how long did they give you to accept/decline?
sure nw
offer was 155k tc for arlington pre-negotiation
they gave me 2 weeks
i didnt have like anyone i was waiting for on the nyc waitlist though, recruiter seemed willing to adjust offer to wait on locations
Wow, that's good! Can you give a breakdown of TC (base/bonus/etc)?
105k base, 40k signon, 10% yearly bonus (i assumed just of base so 10.5k)
yearly bonus can go up or down depending on individ effort and team effort but recruiter said usually around 10%
Nice, thanks!
np
is that arlington, tx?
Nah, Arlingon VA
@young steeple hey man. had some questions and tried to dm, but it seems like u are only taking DMs from friends according to discord. is there anyway for me to DM if that is okay? Sry to at you
can u ask here? ill field most questions besides asking abt what specific questions i was asked in the interview
Just wanted elaboration on what to expect on an OOD type question because I never had one before. what do they want to hear you think, and best way to prepare. I have a final in a few days and just wanna make I do my best is all. Thanks in advance
sure, ood just means they give u a problem and u pseudocode a solution with objects and classes
they also did some real world questions w the problem i was solving, asking what kind of issues i anticipated and stuff
all in all its not hard just be thorough and explain well
so basically just be able to represent sometihng as an object/class based on a description? And about the issues to anticipate, im not sure how I would approach that side from performance/time complexity issues. Is it okay if I ask what kinds of issue you considerd, or is tha too specific.
Again, tysm for responding!
its like real world issues
like if they want u to make like uhh (made up example) a car parking ticketing system u could be like well maybe the receipts could get dirty and the scanner could have issues reading the barcode to find what parking ticket this is
that ones hard to find a fix to but generally like yeah theyll ask what u could do to mitigate stuff like that (no code, just say like oh there would be an alert saying receipt is unreadable contact a rep or smth)
makes sense. Any way you have practiced OOD? Dont see a tag for it on leetcode although i have ran across problems like that(i.ee LRU Cache
hmm nah not really
u dont have to code anything
just have to be like id make an object, itd have these fields, and they would be used to do this algorithm
i see
its rlly like mini system design moreso than leetcode
makes makes sense. if that the case then i think i feel good about my chances with that
just got that and the behavioral, didnt have behavioral in my first teeams meeting.
hopely i pull through
thanks you so much dude . i appreicate all the help
no worries, yeah u got this
