#process Databricks reject after hr
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I did a 20 minute recruiter call and got generic reject email after a day, nothing else
It was meh so kinda saw it coming
what was meh about it
damn
i just finished my phone interview
hr phone soujds ruined
I didn’t have a good answer for why Databricks lmao
oh ye thats tuff
whats a bad answer lol
I said something like DB is doing cool stuff in the storage space
Super generic
And smart ppl work there
And I want to learn backend infra stuff
Also my previous work exp is all full stackish and mobile
Nothing backendy
So managers may not like me
And they asked “how is success measured at my internship”
I was like “I make the project work ig?”
lmao
Product engineering moment
I think saying storage space was the mistake
apparently they use aws for storage
they focus on data processing
Yeah that’s true, managers saw that and prob just vetoed me
bruh lmao
talk about learning and communication
as an intern
imo
Measured tho?
Ah my interpretation is that’s two different things
if your manager sees you asking questions and learning new technologies that's measured success imo
One is what is success and one is how it is measured
But my why Databricks answer was the main reason I feel like
your manager might not think you're successful if you never interact with your team. even if you have a successful product
anyways yeah
just my opinion
True I could’ve expanded more on it
Overall that’s why it’s meh
Yeah wasn’t too interested in them hence I didn’t even prep for why Databricks
oh LMFAO i barely had an answer
i just remember my friend saying smth about how the interviewer said they give interns meaningful project
so i just repeated that back
nice
Bruh 💀
I foresee interview for you
ye i have phone like next week
Nice nice
Recruiter prolly thought u can’t communicate well enough to pass the technical and behavioral so recruit cut them losses
True
Very surprised tho, recruiters want you to pass to fill their quota n stuff
Managers decide whether to interview you or not
I thought it was recruiter
My recruiter told me I moved onto technicals before the interview ended
Maybe the recruiter didn’t want to break the bad news to me up front lol, or you were so good your recruiter was confident you’ll get interviewed
I would guess recruiters aren't allowed to just pass everyone lmao
obviously if they could pass everyone they would
Well in every recruiter screen Ive had the recrutier always told me I moved on to technicals at the of the interview
Ig it just a coincidence
Yeah it depends on the company and role
