hi
DM
me
to u
or better question
can you dm me
@Applied you can just delete this message after you process if you don’t want dms
prob won’t take it over snap right?
a: snap isn't giving returns until dec (if they give them at all) so i ain't waiting, b: big tech is kinda awful lol, and c: AR is useless (imo) and is tech i want to distance myself from. but also, Applied is just way cooler tech and way better engineers lol. offer is also better than what snap would offer and there's the iso inflation benefits to consider. not really comparable, least for me. doesn't mean i'll sign applied, still deciding, but snap would not be in consideration even if i had a return on hand.
oh damn i didn't know applied paid that much, it's crazy that they're already profitable tho
yar, cool company
Weren’t you really interested in AR @brisk gull
What made Snap so bad / made you dislike it
I have the recruiter phone for applied intuition
Was wondering what the offer TC U got for it and the culture vibe u got
yep i was
tldr just really grew to dislike it and think it is pretty useless
highkey think a main reason i passed the manager interview for applied was because i ranted about how much i disliked AR for a minute or two and then the eng said "yeah i created and managed the ARCore team at google before coming here". my heart dropped bc i knew i was dead but then he said he agreed with my takes and we laughed over it.
wasn't awful, more that i realized that A: the company is poorly run, B: bad business cuz ads, C: didn't love my work, D: AR is tech i want to distance myself from, and E: company culture feels kinda fake/forced and i didn't see myself fitting in
culture vibe has been great so far, very heavily considering signing. everyone is either ex-alphabet (google waymo mainly) or from an ivy/T5 CS school, 100% seems to have the highest overall talent of any company i've interviewed with. TC is competitive, won't list hard numbers but prob ~75th percentile base and 90th equity. think the equity upside is high as well, i don't see them failing or shrinking anytime soon - great product, active customers willing to pay today, ez growth avenues, etc etc.
also by far the best recruiting experience i have ever had from a candidate standpoint.
they will get back to you within 2 hours of every interview and normally give offer decisions the same day as your manager interview. very positive experience, would def give them a shot.
Did applied Intuition recruiter reach out for a call after technical phone screen? Also, how was the onsite?
do not mention anything about valuing wlb lmao i made that mistake in my phone round
Google memegen meme is that we pay top 5-10 percentile of the market so I don’t know if applied offer is better or not based off this statement 😦
lollll yeah tbh tho avoid startups if you aren’t cool working long hours, that’s kinda the dealio
The salaries I saw for applied didn't seem that high
sorry missed this. mine reached out within 45 minutes after the interview ended, but i did abs ace that one so i wasn't surprised. onsite was good, won't give deets but 4 technicals back to back.
