you move to wherever the company's office is for the internship, otherwise no one from outside major cities would be able to do internships lol. the exception is if it's a remote internship, but i don't know any big companies doing remote internships in the UK (and imo not worth doing over an in person one)

afaik not many big companies have scotland offices (although i know JPMorgan has one in glasgow off the top of my head) so you'd probably end up going to london for the internship, you apply like anyone else would
