I would solve this by having a sliding window sort of thing, where the window is a substring with no repeating characters. You would use maps to track whether there are repeats or not

then for each window there should be a formula for the math, idk what it is off the top of my head though. But for a string of length 5 it would be 5x1+4x2+3x3+2x4+1x5
