cause there's negative numbers, we track both the maximum and the minimum up to index i, so when we get to a negative number, we can multiply both by the value at index i and switch the max and the min

i havent looked at the post but its always optimal to multiply two non zero integers and two negative integers make a positive integer. so you wanna keep two variables. one multiplies all negatives and one just multiplies all positives. every iteration, you’ll take the max of the two and set it to be the one that multiplies all positivrd

zeros don't matter they just get set to 0 in that index and the min/max is immediately reset to the next number after zero

so if num at index i is positive you can get that max product
minimum takes max negative
cuz if num at i is negative, then your new max is minimum * nums[i]
makes sense

when you'd need a 1 to be adjacent to that number somehow in order to use that as a product
shouldn't 0 be a base case
as if given an array of length 1, it's max product is 0

well it's not exactly the base case
it's just saying both the min and max of the max product subarray up to index 0 is just nums[0], so we set the initial values to that and start checking from index 1

like lets say our array is [2]
our answer we'd return is 2
but it should be 0
As how is the product of 2 and nothing 2?
