Yeah Simplify was pretty good at the time I was using it just last year. I'm a 2022 grad on my way to G, but I've found that the chrome extension was helpful in my time as I was applying to over 100+ companies. I don't trust auto-fill stuff that much to begin with, so I did end up not following through with using it but I'd say it works relatively well

Might be personal preference but I like tools that do the job 100% of the time. I know Simplify is good but I've encountered edge cases where it doesn't do what it does (i.e on most of workday) so I just opt to fill it in myself since it gives me time to review my info and then ship it out. I can't completely trust what simplify is gonna autofill so therefore it doesn't make sense to use it.

I've spoken to a number of current employees at FAANG, and checked out stats available on multiple sources. AFAIK, Google's pay is no better than Meta (often slightly worse) given that they bank heavily on their brand. Other companies often go out of their way to compensate for brand. Last 3 weeks of hiring shows companies like Amazon beating all FAANG in pay
