It’s probably just the market but I would like to be gaining relevant job experience instead of working a generic IT job that isn’t really giving me professional level programming experience which seems to be highly important. i mean i’m not gonna keep up this discussion but i’ve seen legacy C++ code based where it’s all in 98 and 03 and it’s not a place where you pick up good modern C++ skills. working with manual pointer management and shit is not gonna fly in interviews. sure you can do all that in your own time but it’s not a place you’re gonna grow or develop. if you had a choice between that and like java spring boot or more modern stack it’s way more employable

Took geico interview recently. The interviewer didn’t comprehend that my solution was O(1) constant time, not O(n) like the typical solution most people do. He said it was too long (code wise). FML I literally wrote the better solution that is both readable and faster

i dont really understand the geico problem but its pretty clear that your solution can't be O(1) because bigger numbers take more symbols, probably O(log n) at best
