The only interviews I've been getting are due to connections that I/my parents have. And a lot of our connections either aren't responding to my calls/texts/emails or straight up don't have anything available. Job market is tough.

No. At the end of one of my internships, my manager said to call/text him once I'm about to graduate and he'll help me secure a full-time role at the company. Called him multiple times throughout the year, emailed and texted too. No response. He responded once in the summer (I think in August) and said we could chat later that week. I asked when that week we should chat and he never responded back, despite me following up multiple times.

We had a great relationship during my internship in summer 2021 and he even wrote me a letter of rec when I applied for grad school the following year so idk what happened.

The correct answer is PDF. You are applying to work in tech companies, presumably with a degree in compsci where LaTeX is the academic standard. Using a word document will make you seem incompentent. The companies that demand Word have an HR department run by someone old who doesn't understand technology and you should not prioritize what they think.

Hey guys, I just got off a call with a recruiter at a contracting/skill outsourcing company. They said they saw my resume and that there's a temporary 1-year role at Facebook/Meta in Menlo Park, CA that I am qualified for. The job involves data visualization and generative AI, which I have experience in. The interview will take place either this week or next week.

The only catch is, the pay is $26/hr. Seems kinda low for a new grad in the Bay Area, but at the same time, having Facebook/Meta on my resume will be huge moving forward. I live with my parents in the Bay Area so I won't have to worry about rent/food/etc. while pursuing this role. Do you think its worth it despite the low pay because of Meta's name brand?

I previously interviewed for a contracting job at walmart. My dad got me the interview because he works at a contracting company. He said if I get the job (which I didn't), I can put Walmart on my resume and not his company name.

If there is a background check and someone calls my contracting company, they will verify I worked through them at Meta. On the background check form, I'll say I worked at the contracting company but my resume will say I worked at Meta.

2021 was a different time 😭
I was a junior at the time, and I hadn't done any leetcode or interview prep, yet I got a decent amount of interviews despite having no projects or internship experience lol. Didn't pass any of them because I sucked, but looking back they asked me some pretty easy questions lol. I was just that bad at programming. Then 2022 came around and i got like 2 interviews for internships, and I didn't even get to the technical parts lop. Both places just asked if I had experience that I didn't list on my resume, i said no, then they ended the interview shortly after and rejected me 😭
