Usually companies with 3-4 rounds and high pay will wrap up within 2-3 weeks but some go more than that...I've noticed at really good companies it takes time so thats another thing

what is it about these people that attracts them to overcomplication and over-bureaucratization

but surely the long procedural vetting process has a diminishing return on its ability to deliver stronger candidates in comparison to the time and monetary investment it requires

i cannot imagine the 5th interview or 3rd assessment is really going to deliver more results than the previous set of combined processes

i suppose you're right but i feel like there's some statistical bias issue here, because at some point, certain people simply cannot invest the time needede, and they might be the best candidate yet

That's kinda what I was doing but then I watched another video (if i can find it, I will link it https://youtu.be/oUJlLAdQGIk?si=JQDTAGr03nrBAxDH) where the guy mentioned that you might want to give yourself a bit more than 20 minutes something like between 30 to 60 to "struggling" with a leetcode problem. Otherwise you are not giving yourself enough time to actually think about it. I found doing that as opposed to 20 helped quite a bit but I know during a real coding interview that amount of time won't be permissable.

I tend to do more or less what you describe and I stop after I am able to write the pseudocode for it with confidence. This usually means I know how to solve it if I come back to it within a reasonable amount of time
