any unicorn is prob gonna be harder than faang
im pretty sure when the market picks up faang is going to be the easiest if u did leetcode lol
I saw that they encouraged anyone outside of recent grads to apply for their entry level role, so I applied immediately
rip
i cant wait until this market picks up
Apple is great if your resume matches the job description... they're very particular

easy
just know http and crud and you have the offer
not sure how crazy resume screen is, and they basically invented their own interview style which most stratups kinda try to copy
pair programming/debugging/practical API/http etc
its a unicorn, so I'll just move on to something else
move on to Jane Street, leave the scraps for the rest of us
A recruiter DM'd me about a QA role at an unspecified company. If things don't work out in tech, I'd hopefully get something with this guy
I know. I just found out and ate there the day before moving in to Rochester
lmao the implication that QA is not tech
Starting my Masters within a week. Planning on making projects and finding roles with my old resume so I can drop out
There are tons of entreprenuership/startup opportunities at RIT, so I'm hoping to work with someone in the business college to get more experience
swen
When my parents and I went into the restaurant, the owner noticed we were latino and met with us directly. Little did he know, we frequently ate at his restaurant when it was in our town.
Is there Github link for new grad SWE posting?
how did your interview go??
checked pinned github link in #2024_grads for latest, there's nothing for 2023 grads now
Went well according to me, hope they think the same
👍👍
This guy is astro dev
Why aren't we all making 7 figures in 2 days?
Explain
This is really just words to live by tbh
at 20 I can see why he wouldnt wanna go
You can probably make over a million as a senior/staff level quant at a big hedge fund
Im not saying he cant go cuz of age but I see why he would feel that way
its never too late
I had my gen eds done tho so not apt comparison
Nah ik I thought the same but it's an L mindset
You aren't gonna just sneak around it these days that's fasho
yeah, I think college is a good investment. You dont only get the knowledge but the network too tbh
Yeah fr
I wouldnt have all the connections I have today if it wasnt for college
both in academia and industry
Also having the self discipline to learn a lot of fundamental shit isn't really in a lot of people I feel
I'd like to see the guy who made that post actually dedicate 6 hours a day to learning
true, at some point tho it turns into "Ive spent too much money to quit now" 😂
so even if you wanted to, financially speaking it would be the dumbest move
but discipline and comminitment are def a big part of it too
Tbh, those are the true geniuses.
Grinding is the equivalent of Netflix/YouTube for them.
Are any of you applying to jobs in countries outside of the US like this guy, because the job market is so bad Right now? https://reddit.com/r/cscareerquestions/s/nsjJmD2SPf
I applied to JPMC in the UK
They sent me an OA which I did 100% on and then they ghosted me lol
leetcode is cancer
ohhhh nooooooo

I thought it was harder to get a job outside of your country.
If you're in the US
If you're us citizen, it's not harder necessarily but kind of not worth it because US is one of the strongest currency
You can't really do better
But then europe has free healthcare
Hi all, this is a video I wish I had for myself. It's more about getting into the builders mindset.
Huge shout out to Victor Bigfield and his graphcs

can confirm
I saw a reddit comment saying sth to the effect of “you’re dead in the water 1 year out of school as a new cs grad”
chat is this true?
idk
its def hard
After 12 months, you aren't considered a new grad anymore.
but i kno som1 personally who got a job 1.5 yrs after grad
not at a gr8 company
but he transitioned to a midsize after
and then a big tech
v tru
lol no
goddman
They don't care
it’s over for the little guy
which why I will take the first offer I get
I don't want to be a new grad with no experience
y woud they care lol
its a shit market
they're also prob not doin gr8
its not charity
its a corporation
yeah well
frfr
they can charideez nutz
honestly u 100% shoud
u can always keep lookin
but accept what u get
If I only had one
I don’t want to be dead in the water
Question: I got into Rice and UT for MSCS online and pursuing masters degree primarily in hopes of securing f500 job (might be a dumb move but felt it was my only opportunity). Torn between the two atm and can’t decide. Anyone know which would have a better roi in terms of breaking into f500/faang?
which has a better co-op?
and isn't UT like top tier?
Rice is really good, they’re just small
bro I applied in January
beautiful, woke up to a rejection for position that I had a phone screen scheduled for?

Not too sure about co-op if I were to guess though I’d probably say UT
It is but I think rice seems more focused on their students, but then again it’s 5x more expensive
Is this UCLA?
I made it to 2nd round and fucked up some LC question
How long after they send the profile to the hiring manager?
I think I applied in December, my interviews were in February
That position is probably filled/closed by now anyways
I can't apply to that position
Anyone interviewed with akuna capital?
already passed the 1 year post-grad limit and now I'm doing everything possible to escape this hole
Miracle is the only thing that can save me
I tried to find a job within that year and ended up taking the masters route
Damn so I really should take this shitty offer
How’s the palantir OA?
its same as fdse
was gonna take an oa today but headache said nope
Me rn
Bros this offer got me sketched out
I talked to them more today and they basically said it's mostly SQL which just...bruh
you have an offer?
its pretty bad lol
yall think i should take it and just hope for the best?
tc is bad but idc about that its more the SQL shit
idk how marketable it is
Did you graduate already?
yes I did this month
Has anyone seen anything open up today/this past week?
i feel like I should take it given i dont want to have a gap
rather than wait for something better
Take it keep applying to jobs but if you cannot renege soon then just keep working for like a yr and embellish the shit out of those resume bullet points
yeah
i might get to leave in 4-5 months for something
(delayed offer)
pretty obvious advice but don't leave until you have another offer in hand
Niceeee
yaah just fill in the gap thats much better than straight up not working right after graduating
alr lol ill probably do it, just seems kinda ass experience wise so im nervous lol
sql is fun thou
ass experience > no experience
yes its fun but is it good experience
true true
cant forget
yeah i definitely will be trying to do that if i take it
like just go hard so they put me on the more heavy shit
❤️
for sure, thanks guys
its better than $0
don't you have few other options or are they worse
nothing like solid solid
just the delayed offer and an interview
thats why O(N!) says 6 months
im contemplating an offer does that count?

would anyone here work for a job that pays 100k but the culture is very toxic?
yeah if I didn't have a commute
there is a job "near" me that is like a 1hr 40min away, known for being super toxic + high turn over
but it would be a stepping stone
and I'd take it if I lived closer
Should I move to avoid 45 min commute
45 commute is pretty good
I'm the beginning, full time
After some time they let you do hybrid
I think probably I will
Honestly the reason I'm so sketched about this job is it doesn't sound like they're doing a lot of new dev work
Do you think I should take something that is SQL and old .NET?
Or keep applying and hope
gtech omscs is a meme
its worthless if ur not employed
because it takes way too long to complete
I have an interview lined up at another place but you never know
That's why it's targeted specifically at the ones who are employed
Poverty, feed my cat
what happens when new grads can’t find a job within a year after they graduated?
depends
if ur international, u get deported
if ur not, u just go back home to parents
if ur parents dont want you, u gotta find some sort of employment
My man woke up and chose to spit facts
but it just becomes significantly hard to get a job the more time u spend unemployed after college

create a company of 1 person (you) and put that on resume
work for yourself
what if I’m working on a side job that is somewhat relevant
isnt that still a job lol
how is that unemployment
im in the same situation
like tutoring math to college students
yeah this is why i advocate for mroe layoffs and more wage supression
yall wages are drivinginflation up
i have a nice part time job tutoring CS but ofc actual swe jobs dont gaf because it's not "professional experience"
my man
Am I underestimating how cool SQL can be
usually the students themselves do that (upperclassmen)
if tutoring is not experience than being a CS TA isn’t experience too?
Wdym bc market is bad
idk i feel like
CS TA just looks better
I think it'll be incredibly uncool
because people know if ur a CS TA at a uni, then its real + commonly seen
but anyone can BS "tutoring"
That's facts and really is my main hangup here
if a company still uses raw SQL and needs somebody to work only with SQL all the time, that's a sign that you should run away as quickly as possible
smells like legacy codebases and/or written by people who took bootcamps
they do get asked, and you might have to use them from time to time but most modern places use ORMs instead of raw SQL
They're saying writing stores procedures and shit
I really just don't have the knowledge here
They kinda just gave me a weird vibe in the interview lmfao but the market is ass and I'm somewhat geo locked
sounds like they use PHP or 10 year old Java codebase or something
It's VB .net

VB
Mhm
Veneral Bisease
Someone with industry experience tell me what to do
don’t
if they use Visual Basic and raw SQL
run
not to mention 65k salary
bruh i feel like youre not the one to be giving advice, youre not done with college even
and yes lol
like
i have only this internship
and i have a delayed offer
and i graduated
so ig its not so cut and dry in my mind as "they use old shit run"
either way it makes me nervous
idk whats worse
I used VS basic in high school
rare disease
i do have a safety net in willow tree but its not certain
thats what you have to ask urself
pain
idk the best way to decide it is for you to do some sort of small quick VS.Net project and see if you are ok with working with things like that
at least while having a shit job u can look for something else while making money
this is undeniably harder and i have to move first
i live at my dads rn so im financially ok
hmmm
yeah like man fuck
oh true
i wish it was like 1 caveat less
and id go for it easy
the salary is not even a thought in my mind tbh
what
@hollow flicker when did you graduate
technically, this aug 15 was my grad date, but i havent taken classes since spring
so did you graduate or no im confused
yes
aug 15 so like a week ago
im leaning this way
sql and vb.net scares me tbh
I vote you don’t take it
not that id hate it but that its unmarketable
so you are a fresh grad
I thought you were unemployed for 1-2 years after graduating
you will have a lot of opportunities later since most ocmpanies don't start recruiting before Fall
it’s a sign
i think its a sign
I've been trying to find this Willow Tree company the only results are actual willow trees
WillowTree is your guide on the path to digital leadership—from product to process. We design and build digital experiences that drive the top and bottom line. And we help shape the teams and process that propel them forward.
oh it has over 1k employees
looks not bad
its like, right up my alley
anyone else wanna vote on if I should take iffy offer 9000
TheUltimateOne: votes no
Big Pierre: votes NO
bob174d: votes maybe no
do you vote yes @gentle peak
given all the caveats:
5 days onsite
VB .NET
SQL MOSTLY
no
If you don't have another offer, don't decline your only offer.
I vote yes
or no
wait
yes
or
well they voted i dont take it because I have delayed offer
did you see the sign
How delayed?
jan @past hound
5 days onsite in the beginning
tons of SQL
VB .NET
Their training consists of making grant forms using their software
the guy literally said "youll be doing a lot of SQL, we all do a lot of SQL, so if thats not what you want to be doing i dont recommend you take it"
yeah i mean he was super straight up
im really just relaying what he told me
also the glass door is iffy and i dont even really care but ig thats one other thing
it seems like a lot of non-devs dont fuck with it
devs seem meh
indifferent
you can take the offer and then leave after a couple months if it's unbearable
yeah ig so
could do month leases
im fairly confident I may get something else, I got 2 mid asf offers in 5 weeks
i didnt even send out an application until July 20th or something
in the chamber asf now like
did you see that thing i posted?
that they just sent in the slack
its just far enough id move cuz 5 days
month leases are a thing id just come back on the weekends to hang out with my girlfriend
kinda d e p r e s s i n g
but dont want her to quit her fun job
ill think on it, overall there are just a lot of caveats but i feel insecure not working atm
right right true
visual basic balls
i just dont get how theyre writing soooo much sql
it sounds slightly insane
they have a propriety grant software
no
wooooo yeah fuckin TOMORROW
these fuckin cucks bro
im gonna talk to my parents about it
i just dont understand why theyre having to do all this shit in SQL
like fixing database inconsistencies
i highly highly doubt thats possible
right now, im leaning towards not taking it and just sending it
lol
cuz my grad date was in august
so im about 1 week out of my grad date
why did you not ask them
why they use SQL
im gonna email em lol
what should I ask him
its .net vb and sql sir
better to call
cuz your deadline is tomorrow
ask whether they use any ORMs and why do they use SQL so much instead of other options like ORM
bet i will
lemme get you up to speed cuz i do want your opinion
i have a delayed offer thats way better
Id have to move cuz this one is 5 days onsite in the beginning and 45 mins away
the TC is 65k 💀
ok so go for it
i graduated this month
Willow Tree Apps 90k
it was delayed in July
like i signed
they delayed all NGs
cool thanks for the input fr
im just collecting input rn
you have more experience so youd know better if the VB + SQL is like a moronic thing to do
month to month lease or drive
Take it, 45 mins is actually not too bad people do much more, it's a little inconvenience vs your future
45 minutes isn’t bad
what the fuck
bro ive commuted heavy and i despise it traffic is SO bad here, im sure its bad where you are too tho
I used public transportation and it was like 30-45 minutes per day depending on delays
nope
it's the other way around
most people either don't know SQL or know it poorly
using raw SQL introduces more possibility for making a mistake or get SQL injection
ORM is much simpler to learn and use and ORM methods are also usually far more readable and compact and can be equivalent to a long SQL query
ever worked with a codebase where they have a single SQL query that spans multiple dozen/hundred lines and you have no idea if it works or not or what it does? I have and the experience was not pleasant
If you don't have any financial issues with renting do that, if you can drive.. do that. But take the job, its a minor inconvenience for sometime but it ensures you don't fuck up your career with a gap in resume
id definitely sign a short ass month to month lease
and i know it really isnt about perfect anything, its just i dont want to wall myself into a shit area, so hearing that actually does help.
also to this point, if it actually is just a boring company role im kinda more than ok with it, im just so paranoid about spending my time on the wrong shit
@hollow flicker ask chatgpt what it thinks about the tech stack and the benefits vs tradeoffs
maybe it will say something helpful
no yeah thats why im like most likely going to do it
cuz i can just suck it up and go harder
VB .NET and SQL here i come
Join and tell them you wanna move everything to Python
i wanna move everything to C#
so you really think it being fuckin VB isnt going to fuck me in the future
like given I dont get willow tree (worst case)
Thanks
if i get willow back its just all water under the bridge frankly
ok for sure i mean i agree, but recruiters are goofies
they just run MVC like it sounds like pretty normie .NET shit
can i dm
sure if you have a smart and experienced team that's good
but most places and people aren't like that, and people often leave and new come with different experience and strengths
it's true that raw SQL is faster than ORM, but that kind of performance difference only matters when you're doing some low latency stuff like trading, again for the majority of use cases ORM is more than enough
Different SQL databases use different SQL dialects so that means if you want to migrate to another database you would usually need to rewrite your SQL code, whereas ORMs are usually universal and you can migrate to different database without such problems
DM'd but no rush
im gonna ask gpt about it fr
if you want to become SQL god this is a good opportunity
but it probnably won't be pleasant
the people seem nice
i just want some money
what is this about?
Internships
It’s like this discord
Same thing but previously affiliated with. R/csmajors
It has company discord servers
ok i think im gonna take it and drive for the first few weeks
File type matters
Use a .doc or .docx when submitting your resume. Scanning software can sometimes combine or miss words in a PDF and will not scan an image properly.
Chat is this real?
Yeah workday app
then yes
here's the thing though
is this suggestion just for uploading your resume into the application, or is there a separate screening step still happening?
idk
I'm probably just reaching, this is a competitive company
im gonna take the offer, the dev who interviewed me just sent me an email that got me convinced
what did they say?
i asked why they dont use an ORM and he said this
Not 100% sure if that answers your question but if not let me know and I can try again ```
also starlust convinced me that this > unemployment
given i graduated last week
I can agree with that
im gonna be wakin up early but its pog
just gonna keep shopping for jobs while i work there lol
wish i could search for jobs and LC while driving
honestly, I'd be ok with a commute as long as I'm never bitched at for being late
kids in NYC do leetcodde on the subway
same here in toronto
believe me im fucking EXTREMELY
jealous
of public transpo
the fact that I have to personally drive myself everywhere has me seething
one day america will be great again
but i want money and experience
i would take and keep job searhcing
never! we love our cars here
thats the plan
how long is ur comute
45
We will have 10 lane highways nationwide
considering an airbnb for a month lol

@hollow flicker congratz!
yeah i rememebr u said hybird
thanks lol
ill be doing VB.NET and SQL
here is the job description
@vital meteor what you think of this lolol
its just all over the place, not in the begining
cuz im on a specific team
but obv it opens up
but ill probably leave for Willow Tree before that 💀
even if its not the language you are interested in you will learn skills that will carry over and you can always keep applying
or just slack off till you get PIP
i like .net too i just havent done VB
it seems a lot better than what you described
like you're not gonna write anything new in VB probably?
i was going off my interviewers description
ah
yeah its unclear, i think they write tools in it
but yeah they are clearly moving ppast it
he just REALLY stressed the SQL like lmfao
im convinced its a move now
im probably gonna just be a try hard so they give me cool stuff
was the onsite questions sql based
also COL is so low here 65k goes a long way
The OA was SQL
Then just talking experience
Tbh the OA being SQL was anxiety provoking for me cuz it's unusual
is it chill and relax time
Ig it is for me
What is the balance between quality and quantity of projects? I need as much experience as possible. And of that experience, there needs to be solid metrics that satisfy the recruiters at vermont's tech jam
I have until october 21st to be worthy
Don't know if 5 simple crud projects or two multi-person extracurricular projects are the way to go
There is also my university career fair on september 27th
Make one or two that don't look like tutorial stuff and you're chilling
Is the criteria of worthy projects just "non-tutorial"?
I have an inkling that there should be more
Minimum: follow YouTube
Nice: better than tutorial
Amazing: high quality and it's published/live
Could I possibly get an IBM referral? Can share my resume and chat!
Might be the wrong place to ask.
Sir this is a forum for the unemployed
you gotta hunt #full_timers
Didnt do shit whole day. Hows everyones
if anyone needs motivation:
therapy do be expensive af so you need a job for it anyways
Therapy is such a waste of money if you don't find a solid therapist sorry to say
Maybe that's me being brainwashed by having a supportive partner tho
do you guys tell your therapist that you make more TC then them
and work 1 hour a day
They make more tc than me atm 😭
which role?
is it a new grad role
idk lmao
lmfao fuck
i don’t remember 😆
if you steal my job 🙃
i will not steal it
I have a blahaj
what's that lol
Blåhaj (stylized BLÅHAJ, Swedish pronunciation: [ˈbloːhaj], lit. 'blue shark'; colloquially anglicised as , or ) is a plush toy manufactured and sold by the Swedish company IKEA. Modeled after a blue shark and made of recycled polyester, the toy has gained prominence on social media as a popular internet meme, especially in the transgender comm...
Is it worth doing a contract job where they train u and then send u off wherever for X years
The shark is very cuddlable
I mean, hey, any experience is better than none.
Therapist
I have that too
but its human shaped
do yall put revelant coursework in your resume
i know it's kinda redundant cause degree but also heard for optimizing ats
I don't
Not sure it's even necessary
What do companies want?
I don't get it
I have 100% on Color OA but they're ghosting me and promoting their job posting on LinkedIn
They want the perfect candidate for the role sir
And nothing less
If you don't live and breath their exact stack fuck you
Ok well then they are evil
🪢
Or slow
Non-unicorns need not apply
Has anyone heard back from color?
Idk why they're promoting it though
They just ghosted me before OA haha
It costs money to promote a job on LinkedIn
There's over 2k applicants
How many even got OAs?
peanuts to them
I'm in the same boat as you thinking it's insane. Only tiny no names have a sane process
Tbh Color kind of is a tiny no name
Their TC is FAANG tier but they are a no name
never even heard of them
apparently Telus owns Willow tree
Telus is one of the 3 Canadian telecom oligopolies
offer delay = rescind
And yeah Telus is why it got delayed
Idk they just updated saying it looks promising.
So sugma
I'm not certain on it but that's definitely good news
Would u guys take a contract where the company that got you that contract takes 30% of what u earn
Also they delayed ALL NGs not just me
No shit lol those happened when the Willow layoffs happened
I'll lyk if it comes through tho

But literally today they said it's looking good to start bringing people on soon sooooooo
Sooooo
My hopes are officially rising
And I got a shitty offer for the meantime
shitty offer >>>> no offer
Not sure, that depends on the company that will get me the contract and their client
Yeah I'm taking it
same
but I didn't apply cuz heard that Color is above Palantir lvl in difficulty
and is a health company
I think so
They said they would train me for 6 weeks, then after that id get a contract with 70-30 split for 6 months and then 80-20 for the remainder of the contract. I have to go wherever the contract sends me
^
Their OA was not bad
But they seem to have ghosted almost everyone from here
Anyone Done Ramp NG OA? what is it like? LC style or CTF?
It was CTF but I heard they send an LC one now
plz I need a definite answer cuz I want to apply just to practice free OA
its a OOPs question in codesignal now
4 level question
Do you have to do the ctf for that ?
Revature?
no
Fuckin swag
it has 4 levels of questions
nah, Digital iTechnology
Reva gotta be the worst of those types of places
Like there are ok ones I've heard
What do people who've used them say btw?
couldnt find much tbh
is Ramp OA auto ?
Is Ramp OA auto? same question.
yes
Kinda getting tired of CS with the whole job search + leetcode burnout
Maybe I should just quit and switch careers lol
If I have to interview again in my life I'm probably gonna go insane
Did SoFi OA today
I'm so tired man
There are so many rounds for everything lol, even if I go to the next round there's 2-3 more rounds
🪢
maybe app closed
cause recruiter told me they're not hiring for one they posted in Salt Lake City
If I get a rejection email tomorrow I'm gonna be so mad lol
Doing well on OA then reject is worst pipeline
For me it's the whole leetcode shit
No matter how many you do there's no guarantee you can solve them on the spot under pressure
They create new problems
On top of that you're expected to solve them 100% with optimal time/space complexity
Thanks bro for helping me out earlier. Can I DM once? Wanna discuss if I should even continue to search job or not. I feel like I cant stop and feel its kinda messed up thing
Thanks bro
wtf sofi opening did you even apply to
it all looks senior
nah this is the part that makes me mad asf
like me just barely solving a hard asf problem isnt enough, I have to be such a turbo genius that i can do it OPTIMAL
like what is the point?
also this shit just sucks too, why cant they do just 1 huge interview if you want it fr fr
jk
but fr i dont think i will be able to solve LC hards with any consistency unless i keep at it for literally years on end and dont take breaks.
thats fockin fire
I hate 1 big on-site, they drag it on for 4-5 hrs
They want to wear you down so you slip up
They can act all nice and friendly, but deep down, all interviews are interrogations.
API oas > leetcode
True
So much easier to tell if someone is a good programmer by giving them a real life situation instead of just an algo a question
Unfortunately technicals are leetcode
I don't mind leetcode if they are eases and easy-mediums.
When you start getting to the hards........then we have problems
It should really be about: Can you do basic programming and can you explain your solution to someon else
Not....can solve this LC hard that almost nobody could solve if they haven't seen it before
LC hards are uncommon unless Quant
mathworks 100% gave me a LC hard difficulty problem
couldn't even brute force it
because I couldn't even understand what they hell they wanted me to do
lame
yeah this bro, walmart literally IS giving hards afaik
yeah lol my OA for them was insane
i love how hards literally would take me a week to figure out on my own
and companies are like, seems good for a NG role
I love LC hards
especially when they are not given
I took a cp class and the prof said he sits down for 2-3 days trying to figure out how to solve harder problems
you aren't meant to come up with a soln to those problems in 1 hour
not every professor is meant for 150k+ TC salary
ok then why do they give them as if we can pull the solution from our brain
who is making these hiring decisions
im just confused\
like the top top cp guys are the only 1s capable
so ig companies like walmart want top top CP guys
it is legit just checking if uve seen the q before
who will leave in an instant
these leetcode contest leaders who solve LC hards in under 10 min lol
but whyyyyyyyyywywywyayfaefjslfj
you just haven't done enough LC or have weak basics
I remember being unable to solve a single hard problem but after taking a 6 months break came back and could solve multiple LC hard problems albeit in 60 minutes or longer
I'm sure anyone would find LC hards easy after doing 500-700 problems
some of them sure
but there are some really hard problems out there
I just think if you see a completely foreign hard problem, there's no reasonble way you're coming up with a solution in 1 hour
unless you are a codeforces gm
and on top of coming up with a means of solving the problem, now you need to get past bullshit testcases and figure out unintutive ways to optimize your soln
my local pizza shop asked Burst Balloons
walmart
It's hard to tell rn there's only been quant and some autos
but the sentry OA was definitely hard imo
I will mathworks was the exception, the rest of the OAs I have done are eases or mediums.
like no NG can solve that in 1 hour. it was fucking ridiculous.
sent didnt even give me an OA
quants give hards, but we all know unless ur going to a top school already, we prob arent seeing those guys
SAME HERE walmart was the exception

wal fucking mart
maybe it was a med hard for me
but it felt like a hard
it sure felt rock solid hard as a rock
imagine a supermarket asking you LC hards 💀
next we would have Domino's asking LC hards for SWEs
AOT goated
Fun fact, after this scene hundreds of people started throwing pizzas at that house root and on the street
I got DP hard for my live coding interview
company
Walmart
when
They had some audacity
The interviewer didn’t even know how to solve it
HR just handed him a question
nah im seething
WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT
THEY DONT EVEN KNOW???
LIKE BRO
how does that help the interviewer
they cant even hint or know where youre at in solution
I was his first interview of the day
nah bruh they cant just make LC harder and harder at fucking walmart
its fucking walmart

And he started guiding me by trying to use two pointer to solve the problem
It was so fuckign Joever
bro he shoulda passed you he didnt even know
I will say TC was 120K in Bentonville Arkansas
what a fuckin cuck
nah that does go crazy fr
Walmart is really good tho
Walmart is headquartered out of there
is it thoooooo
Tbh it’s really picking up
This sounds like doctors with out borders but SWE
is papa johns open
Love the idea tho
Their tech stack is pretty modern too
HOLY FUCK
boys
New start up
my dream is to break into walmart
Load the jet!
I never thought those words would come out of my mouth
When do y’all put languages in the skills section of resumes?
its real tho
Once you make a project with it or once you hella good with it
I only put things im good at
nah fr tho that salary in bentonville is insane
if the interview asks you deep questions about a language that you just put because you looked at cheat sheet it's joever
yeah fr joever
Oof
ive never gotten grilled on it but even langs im familiar with i could prolly take an L on
time to take some languages out
only shit i use every day is super familiar
english
i literally just have kotlin, and C#
I might just put cpp on there 🥶
I put Java C# and Python
if anyone grilled me on python id puke
I'm good with Java, C# is basically Java and I feel confident enough in all the python I've used that I could hack shit together if grilled on it
I only started programming 1 and half year ago so they better go easy
I put SQL, CSS, HTML, and Scratch
I also realized I’m in the wrong channel in I’m 2025 grad
C# not really "basically" java im really not gonna lie
ur lying
Bro 💀💀💀
it's literally java
That’s what I’m saying dawg
there are so many features in it from .NET that interviewers expect you to know
like what
linq
My college just did all lower div in cpp
they're very different
only their syntax is kinda simlar but could say the same about C and C++
So that’s all I know but not at great level lol
they're both OOP and have basic same shit
linq and also the namespace structure and project structure is totally different
go do a project in .NET and lemme know if you still think that
yeah
gimme a month at a job and I could be as proficient in C# as I am in java
nty I don't want to
I’ve made plenty project in cpp but are they advance heck no
but thats not what we are talking about we are saying how you can perform in interview
can you actually write a c# program without looking anything up?
or even referentially know what linq is?
This question made me sweat
it's how you talk to databases right?
I’ll load it to GitHub and you clone it
java has some shit like that too
its a QL for the entire .NET architecture
it works everywhere basically

query data structs, databases, EF stuff
id just really do a project in C# if you have it on your resume bruh
nah
Hahaa
lmfao L mindset
leave it on and risk it brotha
bruh
Growth comes from fear
I applied to a .net job and they asked me basic OOP shit
nothing specifically c#
i got rejected anyways, probably because I didn't have specific .net/cloud/midlevel swe experience but that's outside the interview
but like, they could tell that from my resume
janitor I could do for sure
tbh C# != .net
yes but it literally goes hand in hand with C#
Is .net like node js
it's like saying Java = spring boot
no it isnt lol
ok man
.net has tons of shit that does not line up with spring boot
i have literally done work in these frameworks and languages like
you can't run C# without .net framework
can't say the same about Spring Boot
they go hand in hand
LITERALLY BRO
its not an apt comparison AT ALL
ok buddy tell that to the next .net interviewer you have
say "isnt .net just like springboot?"
youll get the job FOR SURE
I'll be sure to mention Linq and all that shit
.NET is more like both JVM and Spring Boot combined or something
y’all working currently or applying for jobs
yes bro
both soon
Ayeee congrats dawg
.NET is INTEGRAL to C# even functioning
thanks is it still congrats if you know its 65k
yeah well, you don't have be an expert on the JVM to know Java
In this market yes
65k better than homeless
it has tons of structures and libraries that C# uses
Great stepping stone at least
nah they're separate things
yes bro its an API framework, a web framework, an SPA framework
its everything
LINQ is .net too
there is also .NET Core
which is different yet again
idk bro these look like they got a lot of overlap
if you're fluent in java it aint hard to work in C#, that's all I'm saying
Fluent is a powerful word
Well damn
I been just making web apps for my resume using react
wut 😂
What good job is looking for a Java aficionado 💀
and I've literally used both, obviously I "specialized" in Java, but I've done an EA class which used C# and it's not like python or javascript where everything is done ass backwards
ok that’s fair 💀
Banks
Outside of basic OOP they are not pressing u on Java
literally every company
I’ll make sure to take a Java course offered at my school
That’s actually not a bad idea. Never hurts to know I guess
I highly doubt to his claim that he can easily learn C# in one month
maybe a little bit of syntax perhaps but not the fundamentals

Did someone say Java?
Let me tell you about our Lord and Savior Object Oriented Programming
ibm personality test was hella difficult
Wait
What did they ask you
I don’t rlly get it…wouldn’t it just be behavioral question
Do u get to choose the language for Roblox's OA
this is hella fuckin true
i constantly get the two mixed up
one is ArrayList the other is List
one is Console.WriteLine the other is System.out.println
etc
i had java but was rejected after final because i didnt had c#
. that was shit
it was a slider one but you couldn’t stay in the middle and i disliked both of them at times
anyone up for peer mock interviews - ( dsa , cp, system design, machine coding ) -DM
mainly looking for system design
no new jobs posted on linkedin since past 1-1.5 days , did anyone else notice this too?

DCU bank rejected me cause I got no C#, but I had java
Jesus christ my masters program is a combination of software engineering and data science.
They claim that we need both to get into industry.
This sucks
"Looking for software enginner who has embedded, devopssec, cloud, full-stack, QA, UI/UX, machine learning, and computer vision experience".
I just want a developer job, why the fuck do I need to model data
A lot of positions basically list the experience an entire team would have
Uni name? 👀
Ahhh gotchu
Wake up -> Gym -> shower -> Side project -> Anime -> Sleep
I need to get my shit together
atleast u goto gym
and this is for entry level
and nowadays entry level requires 1-3 years of experience btw
Also, internships don't count.
i love our job market
I funny thing is I have literally seen that before
seen what
I saw that 5-10 times already
Internships definitely count to some degree but oh well
Most places don’t count internships
How the fuck are you suppose to get an entry level role then?
