#2023_grads
1 messages · Page 239 of 1
I didn't apply, they're not a fit for me
modern problems, require modern solutions
Drw rejected me. Do they not hire international students?
dw abt it, they have like just 50-60 headcount
I was a 23 grad and got through for optiver, the assessment on the other hand 💀
But they sponsor visas?
I thought it was still worth a shot
Very high Val move
I have pics from OA
Got a job offer today but salary is less than what i earn as a contractor. Any advice on what i should do
For context, i graduated this may and have been doing business analyst/developer contractor work for 2 weeks now. Today i got offered Associate software developer position on different company far away from home, LCOL but the salary is 10% less
what do you do as a business analyst vs the software dev position?
Thats the thing, i dont know what i'm supposed to do here at contractor job. it's been only 2 weeks. But right now, i'm working for Apple data center and use their filemaker tool. But during the hiring process they asked me about React, Javascript, SQL and spring
has anybody ever interviewed with MTA 💀
i was spam applying jobs a few months ago and they just emailed me, idek what they ask
idk bro Id do whatever is going to give you actually transferable skills but that’s just me
coz rn experience is valuable for when the market heats up right?
idk
Mommy?
quick question, if you are a dec 2023 grad are you a 2024 new grad or a 2023 new grad?
2024
I’m Dec 23 and I’ve been applying to both 23 and 24 positions (usually get rejected for 23 but worth a shot)
understandable
not 2023 btw just wondering
Sending OA
im 2025
We should make our own startup
So that we can be the ones laying people off and rescinding
hopefully
haha
is this true?
i thought most 2023 grads can apply to 2024. ik it’s company dependent, but aren’t most companies looking for grads who graduated <1 year ago
Gabagool factory job
bro i just apply to whatever i see
apply everywhere that is related to software, looks entry level, and doesnt have a specific grad date requirement
Anyone having luck in 2023?

:HimariSmug:

go back 2 leetcoding
hello

2022 grads also waiting for 2024

the amount of applications for ng 2024 will be insane
wtf is this . this role at spotify was posted today
do they keeping reposting shit ?
Guys, stop applying to jobs!!
One week I took a break from applying I got 3 recruiter reach out by themselves
Not really a break but more like I'd given up
I’m about to apply for CEO
its really messed up...they need to fix the algo
Target school with sick as internship or projects
And not intl. Students ig
I mean ur international
No matter how awesome u r, being intl. insta left swipe bro
Faster than tinder chicks swipes left bro
Big n aint hiring unless u r in AI domaim
Naj
Nay
But got a job
And now I am working on my dating game
Imma in nyc
Oh its startup but they spomsor
But I am not betting on that
Try to meetup with girl
Better than lottrru
Nah
I am not from either of those

No they don't

this will sound stupid but China CCP culture and values really speak to me
why bold
Also you hella doxed yourself @median thistle
Like zero effort to John smith that res 😂
Did you put fake info?
I call you rn
I didn’t go thru

Why not Google it

@lunar sonnet I have a question about containers
Let’s say I have a PY script right
Mhm
With arguments that are going to vary
And I want these scripts to run like in parallel
Would this be a good application of containers
I have webscraper.py username password
Same script
yeah
But just varying
Different args tho
Because I want my linkedln scraper to have users to login with
Is this a practical usage
Or should scale up differently?
Ok I see
Yeah I would have write to the cloud
Like an S3 bucket or something
I’m going to have other arguments in the py script
To help descern naming conventions
Mhm mhm
Ok I’m going to deep dive rn
Ty for the tips
But yeah i wanted to run it on a container because of all the dependencies I would have to install
To run my webscraper
I thought it might be possible to scale it up this way
I have it running locally
But I want to automate things further
Have it write to the cloud
Or database
Yeah that’s what I was thinking
I’m tired of running stuff locally tho
I’m trying to get better of automating further
Right
With a. Cronin
Cronjob
That’s an idea too
The problem is all the dependencies
And like
Varying arguments
But I would need to like install a bunch of other crap
Like chrom
And set paths
Yes chrome driver
I mean
Like all that crap
Makes automating so much more tedious
Yeah forsure
I was thinking containerizing this process might help automate stuff and get all that bs installed
Yeah that’s main goal
Stuff also just gets so much more messy locally
Just keeping track of files
It’s never worth it in my opinion
Plus in a production environment I feel like it’s not as realistic?
Ok we’ll I’m going to give this a try
Ty sir 🙏🙏
meta is sus af
so a position that i asked referral for showed 2+ years of exp , but when the guy referred me and went on the referral portal to add the job it showed 7+ years of exp
WTF is happening
if we want to apply coursera intern do we need to apply in Rise site ?
is it the legit one ?
yup that happened to me too LOL
Anyone bagged offer this week
dont u have
0 exp

Diving into all the money I’ve made since graduating
Relaxing dive after a great week at Conduent

bruh i stg me not having a better job is causing marital strife fr
i want to chill on weekends
What work is she doing that's only making $36 during the weekend?
she billing like 2 hrs, but dragging the actual work out to like, 8
like honestly I hate the weekends because no job offers, but hate it not being weekend because otherwise I gotta work at my non SWE job
im even on call this weekend which makes it worse
smh
id literally do 24/7 on call for like a month at a time if I could have a SWE job
doesnt mean aug 1 is some kind of trigger.
but companies will eventually realise to post job openings because its aug already
i made a Google Form to try to get some data about application/interview ratios, and whether being ex-FAANG increases your chances of getting an interview! Here it is: https://forms.gle/MzW3rUyfhpqYi9Rr8 !
Getting data about job search experiences for '22 and '23 new grads to hopefully help other new grads in answering a few of the following questions:
- What is the ratio of total applications to total interviews?
- What % of referrals obtained through cold-messaging led to interviews?
- What % of referrals obtained through personal connections...
I thought it'd be interesting to see stats on what helps/what hinders people get interviews
I'm open to suggestions for any more questions it should include/general improvements.
like even writing like the 2 functions/30 LoC that I do get to write at my job, is like a breath of fresh air
Friends, is second Masters good idea for international? Is it too late to apply for one?
don't you only get 2 extensions if you do 1st masters -> opt -> stem extension -> 2nd masetrs -> 2nd opt -> 2nd stem extension and not 1st masters -> 2nd masters (without opt)->opt ?
yes
I guess if Will does a PhD
You get OPT
During 2nd master's
You can get OPT for every degree, it's just 2 lifetime stem extensions

you are correct
so rip Will O(n)
yeah lmao
but if you want it so badly
HFT
They do sponsor
Damn so masters really doesn't help
Masters helps to get OPT
whats opt
Yeah, I've had a few calls but got rejected after screening probably coz sponsorship
Not that my resume is bad, I did get a call back from Google before they went full freeze
Bad year to be intl
Only firms really hiring are Quants or defense for a large part of this year
but isn't it becuase new grad jobs haven't come out yet?
no
during 2023 season most stuff froze by Sept/Oct
A lot of people I know got defense jobs
ok so 2023 season isn't that when the mass layoffs happened?
yeah
shouldn't it be better this season?
no
there's no guarantee companies will grow and need more employees
Amazon is hiring, but only SWE2 level
The only OAs out so far are quant firms
How
do you guys know how to see what different teams there are for google?
How do you get resume rejected with Nvidia + SoFi wtf
connection i have there who is non technical told me that they want to get me in touch with a hiring manager for a team i would prefer
does drw insta reject may 23 and before grads
maybe
I think Amazon posted around end of July prior years?
everything is
august is where its at
it's just you
ders gonna be massive jobs at august
is that true tho
if august is dry we can offiicaly rope
22 n 24 grads will be applying for 25 grad pipeline
yes, try harder
TikTok is 996
don't forget about September
at this moment, I am up for doing 12127
rate cuts will happen at august and jobs qill be boomih
software is part of our lives we need SWEs!!!
24247
ok realistically whos trying to hire 8 months in advance
I think that the postings for new grads will definitely just happen throughout the fall and we shouldn't worry
Also were over the worst of it
feels bad
I’m so scared
i dont think thats the case
many people at target schools do research for more prestigous things instead of grind internships
and theres a ton at avg schools who have great internships if they optimize for that
what ive notcied is that with high probability the cracked people pass interviews
and there are so amny mediocre students at top schools bc they are in it for the money
only bar for top school entry is hs performance
@median thistle what's TC as Sofi intern?
$18/hr?
🥜 = 🧢
true but you're intern
not bad for intern
you sound like one of those
200K tc is mid

$8K a month is more than most Americans will make ever
true

theres
not that many people who actually do research
most CS labs don't really take undergrads
if its an established lab, usually like 10+ people, there might be 2-3 undergrads
but the majority of them r pretty hard to get into
they definitely do! Many of my peers have done it
i think most ppl in my program did undergrad research
unless ur talking about research projects
then thats different
but most people don't really get into labs, its very competitive
if ur doing engineering/ any hard science, then theirs usually more undergrads
but most CS/CSE/ML labs r very hard to get into
wtf
those have to be bots
i think august 21st-30th is when it starts opening
usually mid sept though cause thats when
companies do career fair stuff
at least for NGs
our CS career fair is on sept 14th
gotcha same
mines around that too
i mean for my uni I just graduated from

Dark mode
just apply to whichever one pops up, some of them are gonna be understanding and lenient about grad date

yo can one of yall pick a # from 1-4 rq plz
they sure jumped the gun last year, August is next week though
2
4

Some places have earlier starts, ex. JP Morgan and Capital One both allow Feb start
one of my friend joined conduent , is it that shitty shady company ?
Nice, congrats to your friend!
it's FAANG tier
Nice! What role?
Whats wrong with conduent?
data analyst or something
everything
Is coudnent hiring bruh I might have to join

yes they have early career roles up https://conduent.phenompro.com/us/en/search-results?rk=l-early-career-development-program-2023&sortBy=Most relevant
Remote
Is it jsut me or are the postings very very dry
Hopefully, it picks up in August
Or I might be left stranded w/o a job
I'm considered a 2023 grad if I graduate in December 2023, right? Even tho it's the 2023-2024 school year?
2024 grad
Thanks

How long does it take to get a reply from conduent? Is everyone getting one?
I applied and never heard back
I'm assuming the recruiters are on vacay and I'll hear back anytime soon

conduent ghosts internal candidates
🪢
their remote pay is 104k i want that fucking job
But will they reply fs 😭
I don't have anything. Wanna die and I'm tired omg
I think it's the only company hiring new grads lmao
the next FAANG
Wait what really?
does it look bad if u work at conduent
oh lmfao
so its like the fast food/retail job of swe

imma go watch nuclear man you guys have fun ❤️
Does anyone have an idea if the hiring freeze will stop for this august?
No one knows... everyone wants to know the answer to this question!
we're all in this together !
in general or for a specific company?
layoffs/freezes kinda stopped
its mainly if companies are looking to reexpand teams/positions
Since, most tech companies were able to beat their estimated earnings I don't see why they won't expand...especially since now the race for AI is the most triggered topic around.
AI means nothing
if ur a phd/ masters with research then sure
its not gunna affect normal SWE positions
but I'm not seeing roles for 0-2 yoe...just senior level positions. Have you noticed any ones in specific that have opened their roles?
idk im learning MLE sht atm
its defo not entry lvl, u need experience in it
the hard part is trying to deploy models and messing around with dependencies, etc
do you think things will open up in the next month?
I'm as clueless as you, mate.
i'm pretty sure NG cycle is starting in early sept
unless no companies is coming to the career fair
hiring freeze has def stopped but not seeing openings for 0-2 yoe people
Totally agree, but they're still can be new technical/software jobs that can be created because of it (like cloud, web applications, mobile for AI), etc..
reqirement: phd in CS

400k in debt

idk, i was on path for dental/med
and left it
grass is greener
need 3.8 gpa+ insane hours+ tons of volunteer/leadership positions to get in
and it happened during covid
Speaking of which, wouldn't they prioritize previous interns that were told that they won't get return offers for new grad positions than new applicants?
covid made it so people literally left the healthcare field
nope, theres still a sht ton
the issue with medical schools is that they will never increase the number of seats
like they only accept 100 students/year regardless of applicants
new grads?
if ur talking about MD
then no
DO then maybe
the hard part is getting in, so unless ur undergrad was super cracked
then sure
but even then, grass is greener
should've become a doctah
everythings a risk
theres only 155 MD schools in the US, and most only accept 75-125ish seats
then take into account every single person who majored in science

yeah, idk its bad
med school insane to get into
dont matter about how good the school is
thats why ppl go carribean

like imagine leaving country like bro

If MD doesn’t work you can also do DO
I know a lot of ppl who went from cs degree to med school
idk i feel like
the effort to get into medical school, unless u really want to
u can just spend that much time n gitgud
You just need to learn enough to score on the mcat and take required courses like org chem
They actually simp for math/eng majors if u can also ace the mcat
u also need a strong background
I know someone who did mec eng then became a heart surgeon
lots of extracullicars, volunteering,etc
but also those guys would have done just fine if they stayed in engineering/CS anyways
med school is no joke

@autumn iris wyd ur grad degree in

Has that been engulfed by deep learning too
They tried to do that with covid but it didn’t work out
Is it more statistical or like algorithms based?
both

theres 2 types of people, one who build the algos/models etc for other bio people
or the bio people who use other CS people stuff
Is it something that mainly exists i in an academic setting?
no
if it has to do something with drug discovery
its prob bioinformatics
aka lots of biotech companies
Interesting

druggies
yes using bfs
🪢
yup
anyone wanna detail their job applying process?
for me I mainly look @ linkedin, indeed, and handshake for stuff within 100 miles of me and remote
Same, but I don't put any restriction on location
I'm thinking about removing that restriction. Initially I didn't want to incase i had to relocate but it's getting into desperate territory now
it just irks me how linkedin can have 1000 results but only show you a maximum of 40 pages
It’s really bad if you get fired from google and own a house next to google hq I think most of us are actually fortunate to spend some time in a random state for a bit
that's a nice way to think about it
I watch the primagen as I’m sure most of us do too, and he worked for a trash company for 1 year than another slightly better for 2 before landing Netflix
nahh dont. ull be paying 1.5k in rent juat to have a 50k wage which gets taxed to 30k

Doesn’t matter realistically I won’t keep much money from my first job anyways
And I’m lucky to have Canadian work visa so I get a second country of potential opportunities
student loans: allow us to introduce ourselves
I'm definitely going to make the effort to be more open minded when it comes to location. it'd probably be an extra 2 hours a day but whatever
2 hours meaning commute?
nah, 2 hours a day staring at linkedin
Did u already graduate
yeah a few months ago
is there an estimate of how many dec 22/may 23 cs grads from like t15ish schools that are still unemployed
were you applying throughout last year?
not nearly as much
how did the job boards look? more promising then than now?
well i'm applying more but i'm also getting aaaallloottt more 'we went with another canidate' no interview or anything
They probably have jobs
Lots of people flew over this completely
i made a form that (if enough people fill) will give us a little bit of an idea about this! https://forms.gle/aATqdkj3z55Nwh7HA
Getting data about job search experiences for '22 and '23 new grads to hopefully help other new grads in answering a few of the following questions:
- What is the ratio of total applications to total interviews?
- What % of referrals obtained through cold-messaging led to interviews?
- What % of referrals obtained through personal connections...
hey thats dope are u planning on showing results if enough ppl fill it?
yeah cuz like i am one of those ppl and i just feel so miserable and it would make me feel a little better if i knew ppl were in the same boat as i was
When did you graduate?
i grad dec 22 but im putting may 23 on my resume
I’m also Dec 22
t15?
T30 and 4 internships
Have you been getting interviews?
And did you apply during your final year?
Yeah, i am! You can see a results summary at the end of the form as well, but i will organize it better if enough people fill it.
I was getting a few in my last sem after that I didn’t get a single call from March
Yes
Sounds like hiring freeze affected the callbacks during that time
background check?
Depends on a lot of stuff
i feel like if u have at least 1 internship, resume not sht, and u dont need visa
Im sure u got some sort of interview
Most people ik who did get offers though got them around sept last yr
So it was kinda be4 layoff
at least 1 (me)
like top 15 cs school

if ur at these type of schools it be easier if u gave a name
also do u need sponsership
Idk what t15 are, i mainly know the schools right under t4
ngmi
bottom 15 cs school does that count

Hello fellow jobless ppl
thought you got a job selling Chromebooks
Doctors have the worst work life balance also medical school is very very hard to get into these days
The grass isn’t always greener
Healthcare has some of the highest burnout rates
Facts, lucky we’re in cs
Most my family is in healthcare
Omg fellow bruins.
I have faith in you that you'll secure a job
are they disappointed in you
Yes but your mom wasn’t disappointed last night 😉
Very, apply to remote but forget about it
lol
@grizzled bronze why is conduent ghosting me
Same reason they're ghosting me
remote jobs are super competitive
everything got fked after dec 2022
Totally man, it’s been awful ever since 2023 started
before nov 2022 there were oas interviews etc
on a scale of 1 to 100 . 10000
bro wtf I was taking a proctored exam for a job
and i accidentally clicked submit exam at the start of my exam
im fucking stupid
imo tech is gone
this shits gonna take years to clear
its gonna be shit competitive until 2-3 years
due to layoffs , scarcity of jobs etc
feds are on cocaine increasing rates , generating fear amongst employers investors etc
bruh
well i have a friend who has goog and appl internship on his resume . He is struggling to get something
let that sink in
goog and appl fkd him by not giving rto
no
make yourself competitive is a meme
2-3 years!? wow
the only way to do that is get years of experience
well 2-3 yoe ain't getting shit too tbh
5+ people getting interviews is what i see
its an employers market
So then what do we do? McDonalds?

at that point, Imma dive
Ex-Staff SWE @ Meta -> Staff-Patty maker
Do franchises have layoffs? lol
well they don't put more people on shifts
so that they can minimize costs
so theres a mcdonalds near my place that has only 4 people who are managing both drive thru and counter orders
and its pretty busy in the evening
Maybe you can join and share the load
Would you like fries with that?

:worry:
i'd take it tbh. if they don't switch you after 6 months, you can leave. it's not too short a period of time at a company
bro, you got a job you have nothing to worry about
other than the Arizona heat

i applied for opt back in May and it still hasn't been approved. If I get an offer before it's approved, do I still have the option to pay for Premium processing? Wouldn't want to lose out in case a company wants an ASAP start
this .
yeah you can do premium processing

Amazon sending "no headcount" emails to the earliest batch of interns who completed fml
fcuk
you mean people who completed their internship in august 2022 , got their offers delayed to dec 2023?
Those who completed in July 21st are getting these emails, they probly started their Summer internship in late april / early may
Even one of the interns who completed early from my org got that email, so I know I'm fucked
I mean I apply no matter what, doesn't mean I get interviews
Yeah, and I know this is legit because another intern on my team got the same thing
No I wouldn't expect anything
Definitely not if they aren't even hiring interns
I guess the ones who graduated May 23 are the luckiest they got the last hires
we will be epxired goods by then
💀💀💀
wdym?
damm
Howww???? There's so many unemployed may 23 grads
Hmm I meant more in terms of intern conversions I guess
No def not. I think may grads were the most effective.
Effected*
Most conversions didn't even happen :/ for may 23
I'm NGMI
Looking for rope
honestly give up at this point
no point in trying anymore
2024 will be the best year of my life

you all just graduated
only the gigachads who graduated < december 2022 should think about roping
I’m feeling really sad and just frustrated. New grads like me are getting at least a few interviews or just positive responses, some with no internships, but I’m not getting any interviews or screens. Just getting ghosted or rejections. I posted my resume in this channel recently and someone said it’s fine and there’s nothing to really change. But that user suddenly deleted that comment and I haven’t gotten any comment on it ever since. So I’m thinking my resume is fine but I can’t figure why I’m not getting anything. Am I just unlucky? Or what should I do to get interviews?
inshallah
bullshit, you're not even close to being expired
you got nvidia + snowflake + sofi
your resume looks good, the market is just bad and no one is really receiving any interviews because recruiting hasn't started yet for new grad
August and September is when more companies start posting
Link resume
statistically there's 87% chances you get either Snowflake or SoFi FT return offer
time to archive 2023_grads, 2024 grads succeeding dooming
.................... would really appreciate it. Genuinely any help is appreciated.
you should post a screenshot
oh
pleasee review resume: #1135384175990538290 message
I put it at the top because i dont have experience so i thought it would be better, would you suggest moving it?
yes makes sense. Thank you!
its doomed

whats the deal with ng jobs anyways
It is very tough right now. It's true when people say "it's not you, it's this market" because the market is picking up but companies are tightening on their HC
Also Chrissy what are you doing here
Too many NG, not enough jobs to go around
i dont have a good resume, im not fucked for may 2024 am I?
How much time do I realistically have to prepare one
i gave some feedback on you resume thread btw
yeah and nothing did, so what
you got a wife though, that's a big deal
August be like
Everyone here is making bank
I had my offer rescinded a month before graduation (I'm a May 2023 grad). Can't even get interviews now
I feel like I missed the metaphorical train for getting into software

I'm trying to teach myself web dev because it seems like there are more web developer jobs than anything else. I took 1 web dev class my freshman year of college, and I kind of forgot everything I learned lol
hi @rain patio
just learn java spring and apply to insurance + banks
Fkin faang
Guys does html, css come under programming languages in the resume.
Because they technically aren't programming languages right
It's only up from here right
i remember thinking me having a masters (i wrote a thesis) would make me competitive (instead I lose out to a nanny turned software developer bootcamper with 6 mos experience)
sometimes you just gotta laugh at the ridiculousnesses of the situation
what happened to ur current IT job
Oh I'm still working there, but it doesn't count as a SWE job 😭
oh, hows that goin tho
it's ok i guess. Kinda boring
I didn't get past the first round for a remote SWE role, just noticed the company extended offers to two bootcampers
To be fair the role did encourage non-traditional candidates to apply and they had experience with a lot of the relevant technologies they were looking for
Some bootcampers are cracked
Then I'd have to explain my internships
That feel when you wake up in the morning and all the feelings of failure because you can't get a job come rushing back:
I don't want people identifying who was hired so I'll keep it a secret. Pay was low anyway so it's a blessing I got rejected.

it's not you, it's the market
August is coming though, hang in there
this server is fake news, I don't support it
wagmi
i group html/css/js together
cuz it at least lets em know u know some frontend
studying computer archetecture and assembly in college while a girl on tiktok who took a 3 month python bootcamp is making 6 figs
change to wagmi
Where are you guys applying to IT Jobs?
nice username
indeed
hey so i graduate soon
last summer i had an internship at ibm, no return offer tho and no ft offer currently lined up
rn im planning on taking literally the first offer that comes my way, but i'm wondering about resume -- will it be better to put some effort in to try and land a bigger name so that i don't lose the momentum from ibm
i have the funds to lie low and grind applications for a few months if need be
Anybody in Canada get 6 figure job after graduation? In Canada
ok amazon here i come
i don't know what you're talking about. today is july (sike no timezone dox) 2021
this is where
can i get opinions / "ur stupid that doesnt matter" reassurance on this plox
take what u can get use IBM to negotiate a higher salary then take ur time searching for a bigger name
i appreciate that thank u (i completely forgot about negotiation tactics!!)
how much time do you think "take ur time" should be?
idk man lmao im in the same boat as u
im kinda cheesed about the salaries in canada
a random $65k job at a bs consultancy firm just to pay the bills for a bit
why are canadian salaries so low?
and he kept up the job hunt and quit for a better offer after like 2 months lmfao
cuz not as much business is done here
american economy is just too massive compared to us

can you work remote across the border or do companies not like that?
some jobs do that
u still need visa i think
but it's probably harder with taxes and stuff
rip tru
my current job is a nyc based company with a sattelite office in canada
feel like they do that cuz they can underpay us here lol
why do all these mfs want 3 years experience tho
do i just apply anyways?
Yes
no literally yes
I’ve been doing that
the experience they request doesn't matter
Just apply, I apply to every position from junior to techlead
i apply ceo
ill apply for janitor too lol
("don't say no to you, make them say no to you")
if you want you can write (or chatgpt but its writing style is a little obvious so try at ur own risk) a cover letter that calls that out and assures the recruiter that u have the experience required
but afaict it's no huge deal
fuck that if they ask for CV i dont bother
this me rn fr
thats mad annoying adds like an extra 30mins to the application
its like all this work was for shit
do we go bootcamp
Yeah I don’t do CV’s
r/cscareerquestions has to be t10 most brain dead things I’ve seen
Morons in there talking about “your not applying the right way” 💀
lol my bad
i keep reading this as mormons
It’s just a bunch of ppl who either have a job or aren’t even graduates saying nonsense
whats the utah market like
yo thoughts on putting my 16 month intenrship as fulltime?
honestly 16 months lol yes
SWE for Mormon Church
what if they call my manager tho?
hmm
Just say it was an internship
nah i was part timing school
Are u applying for ng?
yeah don't need to specify if it was part time or full time just say internship
yeah
It’s a co-op then but idk if ppl care abt the diff
Some ng apps specifiy <1 YOE so they might reject you be careful
every app i seen they want atleast 2 years smh
Those are junior/entry level, ng apps soon
Bro the worst thing that can happen is u getting rejected
not true. they can kill u
Imagine recruiter emails back calling me a dumbass 🤣
If it's 16 months part time then it would be 8 months ft experience
has anyone noticed any place actively hiring atm?
Wait until 2025 brother
Rope today?
yes
prob sweat shop and local wendy's
dream job if they increase PTO time more
give me the company naem
what did we do to deserve this
@median thistle Change from CS to marketing

What does ngmi mean?

is there any brand prestige with tiktok
like is it easy to jump to other companies lets say u work at tiktok as a first job
If u can crack tiktok interview than u can crack 90% of the companies
i think tiktok interviews are easy to grind
as compared to novel interviews like palantir etc
since tiktok mainly just test leetcode, sys design, and those computing foundamentals
so not sure if the diffculty of interview will correlate to greater mobility
Imagine making $122K TC as a new grad but then getting fired for complaining on Reddit

yeap cuz the trading firm requires relocation and i cant rlly relocate for the next one year
so i am considering going back to tiktok
but not sure if its the smartest move lol
This was very recent. Damn
he got fired instantly lmao
damn
lmao
Why was he not anon?
bruh imagine losing a 122k TC job in a LOW COL area in this current economy because you complained on reddit about the job being "bad"
maybe they only hired a few ppl
so easy to pin him out
or he was the only one
lol
that gotta hurt
he was using a throwaway i think; but he was very detailed in his post...he mentioned he was from "Indiana" and currently makes "122k in Sacramento" and "currently 3 days into my job"
rip

whats the alternative, i think tiktok is great for resume and exp imo
@pure mauve is currently working there you could ask him his experiences
yea i believe so
Didn’t he also include the actual name of the company?
yeah
lmao
What an idiot
lmao
I think part of him wanted to get fired, but didn’t really think things through when posting
bruh
Which one of you is going to take his spot ?
not me, i'm expired goods
jobs
Bro I'm making $18/hr at an IT job even tho I just graduated with a CS degree. And this guy was complaining about $122k? I don't care how toxic that place was, I'd stay at that place and keep my mouth shut until I found a better job
welcome back king
what was he complaining about? just the tc was low?
he was complaining about the job "not being very SWE heavy"
guess they made a follow up post

How did you learn Spring?
It's quite hard for me
Make something lol, Baeldung tutorials will get you hired
hmming
Stop complaining
Complaining ain’t gonna help you compete against cracked ass MIT & CMU fobs
I recently received a message from Akidev stating that they will offer a 3-month training and provide a 1-year contract. One thing about them is that they require me to put down a refundable deposit of 899, which will be returned after 6 months. Should I avoid them?
you have to pay them to work?
yes
she said. " As we are offering the training for free you have to pay an admin fee of $899 which is for your documentation and legal purpose and we will refund that amount once you complete 6 months of work with us (Everything is legally documented). "
you get paid ?
position?
salesforce software developer
talk to previous employees on linkedin and find out
okie seems they are legit but just wondering if it's normal to be asked for deposit 😦
not normal at all
she said do some research about their compnay
deserved
lmao
count ur blessings
Bruh I was messaged by a similar company. They asked for a $1500 deposit for training. Seemed kinda sus to me
I guess I only get responses from scams
I’m a summer graduate, graduating on 12th august have no offers yet😞
ATP I don’t even know where to apply. Entry level positions want me to have like 1-2 years of professional experience 💀
From what I've seen, new grad recruiting peaks in the Fall. More positions should open soon!
