Grokking: goes VERY DEEP into every topic like messaging queues, how and why NoSQL databases support eventual consistency, etc.

Systems Expert: covers breadth but does not go very deeply into the technical topics. For example, it touches on every concept listed in grokking but at a shallow level.

In terms of time, if you have the time grokking is nice to look at but OVERKILL and even may lead you to wrong directions when leading conversations during sys design interviews since you shouldn't start talking about the nits and grits of each component (I did this for Palantir and received feedback that I overcomplicated the problem).

Also, better bang for buck: educative is like 50 bucks per month but sysexpert is 89 per year

Let me make it simple for you.

Workout 4 times a week. We'll do what we call a "bro split" which is just upper body and lower body. It'll be super minimal to start, then we can add isolated exercises that are called "accessory" work.

That's gym - gym - rest - gym - rest - gym - rest

On your rest days just make sure you're not a coach potato. Take a brief walk for coffee or something. Anything to not be 100% sedentary.

Progression should mostly be with weights but if that's hard for the numbers you wanna reach then fiddle with your reps.
