If the recruiter is non-technical, wouldn't a nice GUI and a technically-sounding project with a diverse range of technologies not improve your chances as opposed to something extremely technical that takes months to do?

I think they receive training to some extent; I remember talking to a recruiter who was relatively new to engineering recruitment and told me stuff along the lines of "if there's anything I didn't understand, I'll ask the engineers and other recruiters about technical concepts"

So in the end, they do know how difficult it is; but I guess a good way to make it stand out is also involving metrics like timeline, how many people were involved, lines of code used, etc.

Has anyone been tracking the correlation between layoffs and new grad rescinds? Meta, coinbase, etc rescinded new grad offers along with layoffs, but from what I see right now other companies with layoffs have not rescinded offers yet (Salesforce, plaid, etc). If you have a new grad offer from a company that has recently laid off, I'm curious to know what the current situation is with your offer.
