Hello y'all, I have three offers so far and was wondering which one y'all would recommend. The three are GM, IBM, and JPM. They are all for SWE except IBM that is kinda a cloud/client engineering role.

• what you want to do
• compensation
• location
• benefits
• how much you vibe with the particular company
• opportunities for promotion

and tons of other factors. it's hard to give a straight up recommendation without factoring in all of these things. if it was me, I'd probably take IBM, but that's based on my evaluation. but I'd consider all of these factors and make a pros/cons for yourself

for me, I value compensation, stability, innovation and prestige in parts. ibm I think has that over jpm. but I would agree that if you're not directly interested in cloud engineering, swe at jpm is probably a safer bet.

ibm is at least a bit of a gamble if you don't have cloud experience, cause you probably don't want to do that for the rest of your life.

I think CS is alot different though because there is so little direction

what I mean by the grind is mostly giving a shit about finding a job while still in college, like if you're in this server chances are you're gonna have a good outcome

half of the people in my CS class really didn't give a shit until it was too late and realized they should've been trying to get internships and apply for jobs while still in school

Tbh I’m in CS rn because my AP CS Professor freshman year of highschool made us do these things called: ‘Javabat’ which is comparable to super easy leetcode problems, and he made it a competition for our class, and the amount of hours I stayed up figuring out those problems and the serotonin it brought me made me sure that it was something I wanted to do

at my uni, we have a "co-op" program

which is basically an internship that the school kinda helps u find
