i think its a mix of swe's being able to fight for higher wages and also the fact that tech companies have a big scale

These companies only care about money

SWE's, good SWE's, are exceptionally good at returning their value in 10x

U get paid 200k and they throw u a laptop and u produce 2m in value

Other engineers rarely have this impact

SWE costs are really low too, no logistics, rollout is easier, delivery is cheap, cloud costs v cheap
