Honestly just try applying for the UBC or SFU second degree, no coop from the UWind program is such a huge liability. I’m not sure how confident you are to land a “first-year” internship, but that’s insanely hard in this market imo. Having more internships/coop is pretty much necessary if you don’t want to be unemployed in Canada after grad. An accelerated program without coop is just a speed run to failure.

Unless you are willing to put in insane amounts of work to do learnings + projects in the next 4 months, summer 2025 is a tough timeline to break as a first year CS student.

Even one of those online CS masters could be a much better option. There are affordable options offered.

I’m speaking from experience as another second degree CS student, in the first fall semester you have to pretty much work on projects + leetcode every day on top of your regular classes to make up the knowledge/project gap if you’re looking to start interviewing in the January semester for summer.

Or, take semesters off to do internships and pace yourself. Does UWind really prohibit that? That’s pre bad.

Like I said earlier, just start making something now. Watch a project tutorial at least and get started at the minimum.

there’s one more company that rescinded my offer. So apparently I cleared all rounds of interviews. I got the offer and I had a grace period of 3 days to either accept or reject the offer. I was sure I wanted to accept it, so the next morning i wake up and i find my recruiters email in my inbox stating there has been some shift in the management cause of which our offer is now null and void! thank you for your interest xD
