The geographic advantage helps a bunch. I interned at a place with a Toronto and Vancouver branch. Every single person in Toronto was from UoT while the Vancouver branch had UBC, SFU, and UVIC students

carleton student here. applied to like 75+ internships for these ottawa-based companies, heard back on two positions, didn't make it past the first round. ended up getting a remote internship with a company based in the GTA
Job board here is overhyped. You'll find more success hunting for a job/internship independently, and then getting your co-op office in touch with that employer. When I was looking for my internship, I'd see jobs coming up on the job board that I'd already applied to 3 days prior.

Well it’s not really “our” food anymore. The company that owns Tims is Restaurant Brands International. They also own Burger King, Popeyes and Firehouse Subs (all American brands). There’s a headquarters in Toronto and that’s about the end of Tim’s being Canadian. Majority of the shareholders are Brazilian and the company more American than Canadian.
