Canada has always had a weaker economy for tech jobs here, usually underpaid compared to america but thats not to say that we had a lot of tech jobs and people getting hired left and right 2017-2021. Canada can handle less interest increases than american companies so they pull back harder and thats why we see a lot less jobs here in tech and especially with having insane immigration including from america, and a large amout of stem new grads, We have a lot more competeing for a lot less jobs.

(We did debt to buy companies, but, now the debt payments are > 12k/month, and, not leaving much at all for owners after that + feeding back into growth, so, it's doing a number on my personal finances right now)
