you have to preclear your trades, and once they're approved you must execute them within a certain time frame/limit. Front-office like an actual trader will also have more restrictive rules than back-office like an SWE/IT, etc. You can invest in mutual funds/ETFs I think but basically, forget about day trading or doing wsb-style yolo plays

you also have to move your accounts to pre-approved brokerages such as schwab, fidelity, vanguard, etc. (so not RH lmao) because they have reporting pipelines and compliance procedures so your company can use those and check on what you're doing.

and don't think about opening an account and not reporting it. when you join these companies you sign agreements that say you agree to transfer your accounts over to a pre-approved brokerage. every time you submit a trade you have to send it to your company's compliance department. they will then use the compliance pipelines that these pre-approved brokerages have and basically do some referencing, etc.

if they find out you have other accounts you basically get fired

at a minimum
