This is a rumor that I overheard so it may be cap, but heard quite often: schools can't deny the CPT itself but they can fiddle with the requirements based on renege. i.e. schools require students to register for 12 creds hour course during internship, solely for sufficing full time criteria for CPT, but they can block the registration. This indicates violation in CPT regulation, so in the end the CPT is at risk

I am an early senior and I have applied to 150 companies right now, and only got 7 interviews, and 30 rejections

I suggest you to modify your resume to match the job descriptions. I heard most companies use AI to just filter out people who has most keywords for skills that match the job descriptions, because they can't really read everyone's resume. As an international, I felt like applying to avg-size / small companies was pretty meaningless and harder to get interviews than FAANG because they won't/can't sponsor any F1 students. So focus on bigger companies

And also if you got 7 interviews from 150 companies I think it's not that bad. I applied to 170 places and got 4 interviews lol. If you don't give up and keep applying, I think you would definitely be able to land an internship. Good luck!

I usually google head counts for that company. But companies like JP Morgan don't sponsor visa even though it's really big. It really depends on each company. Most tech companies do sponsor, even if it's pretty small. Try to apply to companies where many alumni from your school work at. It means that your school is one of their target school.

I would recommend trying to go to the US because it might be harder to get a visa but you will find more opportunities

but tuition is pretty high if you are studying here

the way would be is go for a job in your country and transfer over here but the thing is you probably have to work with your employer for a while

in the end i only got 1 actual interview and it turned into an offer and my uni played a major role (the hiring manager hired some interns from my school before and really liked them, he said “they must be teaching you really well” and he talked about it for 1-2 mins so that was interesting…). i think i got insanely lucky

That’s not true. Only If you have 12 months or more of full-time CPT, you are ineligible for OPT, but part-time CPT is fine and will not stop you from doing OPT.

You could put A levels, but I doubt it'd have any significant impact on whether you get past the resume screening or not, they care more about your uni grades I believe (if you have 1st year transcript) or exp/projects
