graduate in spring 2022 ๐
dudes just clowning at this point
ohhhh ok i seee
so you just tell all the companies to hold the return offer basically
Honestly, people like this guy are gonna flatten out soon until they calm their ego lmao
kind of i just tell them my graduation plans and they accommodate
yea tbh the real legends ive seen on linkedin really dont flex at all
like Google L8/FB E8
linkedin posts are cringe lol
they just state their position or sometimes even understate
Why would a Google L8 Need to flex they are legit at the top
๐คฃ
its just the new grads who have to get that ego boost
itโs just a platform to have your resume with more details and for recruiters to find you
oh nice
i was a little worried abt that actually
that a company would just like toss out my return offer if i do more internhsips
hmm it prob differs per company
but ddog is really chill
ah i gotchaa
ah i didn't think people would think like that ๐ข
@final hawk tbh how has doing multiple internships affected like your perspective of each team/company? like have there been significant differences by company/industry
i kinda imagined most of big tech is p similar, just varies a ton by team.. so in theory if you find a team that is a good fit then might as well join that? but idk this is speaking from 0 experience so would love to hear your thoughts
if you find a team you really like you can def join that
for me i've never fell in love with a team or anything
i always just want to learn more
like about different tech/team/environment? cause in theory could learn as a new grad too
just learn new types of things too
cause asnew grad you're kind of in one niche
like at snap rn i'm doing ios dev stuff
i would've never learned that if i stayed on the other teams i've interned on before
cause they don't do ios stuff
ive fell in love w most teams i join LOL (except one i hated)
ahh i see, yea i kind of thought it as it gets boring after multiple interns cause you are ahead of everyone else
but you get to learn different sides of tech
so you still start as a beginner everywhere basically
interns are for the experience, and resume
i just do them cause i get super curious what companies are liek
and the kind of work they do
like in the sense that if you do 6 internships you kinda stagnating
like the next level of experience would be full time
serial dater
what can i say
i think it depends on where you do the internships too prob
hi hiru
hi bread
right makes sense, you get to see different industries and parts of tech basically
for me i'd imagine that just whenever i fall in love with a team i might as well join there FT
yea :Di think some of my internships have been pretty unique like Colgate
i learned a lot
about
TOOTHPASTE
very neat i learned a ton outside of standard CS stuff
did u get free colgate
oh dang thats super cool what kind of team were you on?
like really really good
im kind of in a similar type of thing rn
can i dm u a question abt discounts actually
yes ๐
global technology research lab
for a cold email
do you think my email headline should be "Ex-FAAANGMULA 1 and Ex-FAANGMULA 2 intern interested in ____"
yes
oh definitely
but dont specify which FAAANGMULA
just say it exactly the way you did there^^
ill say FAAGMULA
wait i wasnt being srs LOL
we dont associate with the aot betrayer
crazy
wow u too
oh interesting what do they do?
got what?
sry im not a degen binger
thats what im saying
Anyone else get next steps for Netflix?
they have their own research project they're working on but they also develop a lot of tools to evaluate colgate products
Can I dm if you did?
no ๐ฆ im a good fit for 3 of those roles tbh (ML, data engineering, analytics engineering) and I haven't heard back
yoooo legend
e.g. if you wanted to see the effectiveness of a whitening toothpaste you'd do an experiment with that toothpaste and take pictures of people's teeth over time
ah interesting so prob a bunch of data science/ML stuff??
yea there was some ML
Ah I applied for the cloud security infrastructure engineer position
oh wow so its like the intersection of science and computing hahaa
and you can create software to evaluate the change in teeth color or smthg
that actually sounds super unique
yea ๐
def very unique
did you get an interview/oa?
pog dude
@dapper shard I just got the cloud stuff and then I think a phone/2nd oa for ML role
didnt even know netflix takes undergrads
They just started
@real nacelle what school do you go to, just curious
not top school just a decent public
yes! but i told them i already accepted an offer
wtfff fr
Looks like there will be a take home. Right now there is just a form they want me to fill out
lol everyone gets that airtable form tbh
i applied to the device ecosystem role as well
For their security position
im an ms student
ohh ok
the internship's gonna be really challenging tho
decent public school but not anything amazing, think I just have a few niche research roles
i feel like their return offer rates will be lower than usual
yea mine was for data engineering and it said ms/phd and i told them i was BS but they were cool
yea everyone i saw intern at netflix has niche research
oh damnnnn
hahahha
ms/phd or ultra chad resume
Okay but youโre deputydank
^
u guys are chads too
Donโt even cap
IM NOT
But thank you ๐ฅบ
Absolute POG
Not gonna move forward with Netflix. Iโm doing my last two interviews then Iโm done with this season. Iโm tired.
understandable
i cancelled all my interviews cause i needed more time to play genshin impact
and animal crossing
Redirect the Netflix interview to me
Okay
yes!!
i too volunteer to get netflix interview โ
Only for mvp
plz play my GI account I need more time to prepare for interviews
I got it tooo
Like ML roles, mine was cloud security infrastructure engineering
LMAO
Not just regular SWE
wait can we add each other on genshin
i have zhongli
i'll admit
It's automatic maybe?
i spend my itnernship money on genshin T.T
NA right
Just a candidacy form thing. Yeah looks automatic
But there is a recruiter
woah how much did u spend
yes ๐
Cloud security didnโt specify for ms/PhD
dwbi ๐ it hasn't been that much
yet....
i'm saving all my primos when childe reruns
Wait there's no a recruiter mail
I have just got a message from another company
I did manage to find a twitter recruiter email by the grace of god
YOU HAVE GENSHIN
genshin wont generate me $$
Genshin trash game tbh
Can I ask who? ๐
streamer tho
Ngl Iโm kind of gonna keep this one under wraps ๐ฌ
lol
Nah andre big chad dude
I have found a Twitter recruiter mail, sent it and she ghosted me
you can apply and give it a shot ๐
Btw I think Netflix form is actually automatic
i got ghosted by 2/3 cold emails so far
this year yes
one reply was just
"im forwarding ur shit over"
LOL
really dont want to cold email cuz no matter how good ur cold emailing skills are
if ur bad ur bad

If I get one more blackboard notification
LOL
blackboard
Did any1 here go through indeed process
I lowkey got railed it was some DP question
ok from now on imnot putting my grad date anymore
u have to
for the apps
they legit make sure its grad 2022
else they middle finger u
for cold email
Ohh
they can see it on my resume but
i have a 0% cold email success rate
i emailed epic games asking if i could intern on fortnite
is it rly that serious lol
and
tbh i can technically put one yr earlier
no reply ๐ฆ
:((
but fortnite sucks now
yeah tbh i think
so i'm okay
is dead
not worth for me rn
it was hyped
that's cause all the new fortnite updates are bad
^
i rememeber playing fortnite and then all of the sudden everyone dancing holding tacos
super weird
stopped playing after that LOL
ik that was a while ago
but ik another recent update they had random sharks flying out from the sky
at you
i ain't into sharknado
it just got more cringe
"work"
is full hours 8 hours
yea
ye
ye
ah yes
ye
no
you usually set the hours with your manager
depends
for me i did 10-20 hours a week part time
anywhere from 10-30 hours typically
depending on how busy i was
ohh
makes sense
i just got number of islands on my interview
100 hr work weeks as intern incoming
I got it in my first interview ever and I failed
You swallowed a coke tab
At Bloomberg
pog dude
never had a better technical in my life if i get rejected im going to say something to linkedin ceo
u set forever now ๐
i deserve this W after the L
Only 40 Leetcode done
RIP
bro im gonna enjoy life if i get this offer
Donโt be like me and neglect LC. Just gotta do it.
i think reneging to pay medical bills is valid
from what you said sounds like you got it
cause linkedin pays more than intuit
or, just wait to get lucky

Yeah like I did with JP Morgan
and me with multiple places lmfao
I didn't about leetcode at the time lol
It was September and I have started leetcode in end of August
Understandable
what's leetcode?

what
๐ผ
nice
On week 1 you just have to push one button and look at the stocks
do referrals mean anything nowadays?
like $20/hr more
I just want a fucking twitter offer so I can cry in happiness and never have to touch LC again
Chase ๐
I love the product
WTFF
Big tech prob not
Use it everyday
But at smaller places it def does
And full stack dev at twitter would be amazing
u got any offers currently?
I am going to reject Twitter
which one u goin with
And build my startup
curious
If I get fb Iโll give it to someone
wat companies
levels.fyi
๐
Is glasdor salaries > than levels or na
Cuz i use glasdoor hella
Levels is more accurate
o got u
I think levels has been better for me
A teamblind evolution: verified work email + total compensation, the higher you TC the higher your post are on the feed and your opinion is more visible than the other
All blind user want to work for me
People really get on blind and use it every day. And actually enjoy it.
it's like 4chan for tech
perfect
whats blind

im not even joking idk what that is
I am giving you some business ideas kids
A social network with random moderation, the point is to not get banned.
One day you post a cat pic and you get banned, another day you get banned for politics
I donโt use blind cause you have to use a work email
And you receive spam
And I donโt wanna use my work email ๐ณ
whys twitter clout
@obtuse otter did u get american intuit or canadian
I am recruiting
tfw always recruiting
rip boba
MANS STILL GONE
ikr WTF
Pretty sure he came back?

I have recruited him
@dapper shard what was ur chase process
wrong one
was it the hireview with the 2 questions
nop he gone
and then final?
Got my offer from J.P. Morgan hackathon. Didnโt do final
When did u do the hackathon
What was their hackathon
nice
Think there was like a three or four day wait period before I heard back
I think I did the hireview 2 months+
Code for good
murica
JP Morgan is pretty close to being done hiring for the season
Iโve heard
Because everything is automated up till then
:
And they filled a lot of their locations after code for good hackathons took place
Their OA has like four questions for the entire question bank lmao
anyone have experience interviewing with nintendo?
for anyone who has taken amazon oa3, is there anything you can do to prepare for it?
Read up on amazon leadership principles
ok sounds good
thnx
and also do u get disqualified if u dont take it within 5 days of the email?
๐คท๐พ
yeah take it within 5 days
is it hard or just a hassle?
just annoying
A lot
a single typo on a resume isnt a BIG deal right?
lmfao
i spelled advice like advise...
avg recruiter spends
im worried man
Thank you for applying to Twitter. We appreciate your interest in our company and desire to work with us.

Just got this
Same
bot
And a recruiter has just liked a post on LinkedIn about an intern that got the offer lmao
Just cancel the bot lmao
or in the best case just send another email like this one
i hate twitter so much and im not even a trump supporter lmao
I heard that they usually grab people from conferences and shit anyway
And normal pipeline is just a waste of time
yeah that kinda sucks too, like im all for diversity but im sure they can mix different races together, whjich includes white and asian males
They lost their main attraction what are they even doing now
Also that their new grad pipeline is pretty much nonexistent
They have all the time to send rejections
new grad pipeline is again only for conference attendees
I am going to get attention by creating a big political issue on their platform
Instant interview
Twitter is the only company Iโm happy to be in the diversity pipeline for though tbh
At least I wonโt get ghosted
backtobackswe interned at twitter twice
he's a smart dude tho
and seems really nice
yeah i'd definitely hire him if i were a HM
I was surprised to see him in my recommended considering I donโt really watch CS people at all
what even is these conferences
b2bswe's videos are the best I've watched
But the big ones like ghc and another big one I canโt remember the name of have already happened
Yeah the one video I watched he explained intuition to LC problems and I thought that was big.
Would algoexpert help if youโve already taken dsa?
when i started lc i would only do questions he had videos on
if you force candidates to specify gender on the application, you can just filter out for females right? how is ghc different in that sense
ghc is a pipeline
Yeah. Well specifically for women. Because it is for women you know. You can go if youโre a male for like workshops or to support women and shit but it is frowned upon to try and get in with companies at ghc if youโre a guy.
At GHC you can do interviews at the conference - some people got offers from it
anything that โpersonalizeโ or humanizesโ the app process so applicants can have easier time talking to someone with power
thatโs the goal
yeah and most of the interviewers are also women (since they also go to the panels and the other events themselves) so it's easier for everyone to connect
wait do companies recruit from tapia conference
i think u can add ur resume to their db guilt free to conferences to at least join the talent network or be informed about opportunities
Ghc is a good conference though. We definitely should see more women in tech and not make them feel like they have a chip on their shoulders and have to prove something. They are just as good as male engineers too.
i feel like thats the first conference i see
Yes thatโs how i got my offer
I got Lyft and Uber from tapia
Interviews
Not offers lmao
HOLY
whats tapia
Yeah i joined those chat rooms and the recruiters hit ME up
tapia is in like august right
Tapia is for URM i think
or early sep
Not sure lol
oi
or am i dumb
September
Because I finished recruiting mostly by the end of September
BEST JOKE 2020
no - asians are over represented minorities lol
No they arenโt considered urm in tech
^^^^
sad
ok cuz i saw a LOT of indians and indian-american at tapia
what is tapia
are indians really URM in tech
males?
no
yes both male/female
no.
lol asian females aren't URM either
No they arenโt
female maybe
I donโt think females are either tbh
hold up what even is tapia target supposed to be lemme see
they are because of gender, not race
tapia is just "celebrating diversity" lol
i think in college maybe but still most engineering teams have like 1 woman
i was saying if indian females are not urm (which i honestly dont think they are as an indian myself) then i think asian females kinda aren't either right
when i've seen users post here their colleges having >30% women i'm like damn that's a lot
the ratio is like 1/90 for my school
still the only girl in team of 20 as an intern rn

the gender thing is still a net disadvantage (for lack of better word)
really? I think they are URMs still
I really appreciate conferences and initiatives like that though tbh. Because honestly I see like no AA males in tech. Iโll see Africans in tech before AA. Crazy tbh that I donโt even see AA males or females in this industry that much
there are gazillions of indian females in computer science
asian females maybe a tad bit lesser
my mom, my aunt, a lot of their friends are in tech
wait peepo i'm dumb but if someone is black, does that not encompass aa and also actual africans
but then latina/black are wayyyy lesser
yeah i see what you're saying about indian women; i dont have the figures but i still think it's such a big deal for them to get opportunities
it's hard to say - like if you're a tech and a woman, you're much more likely to be Indian, Chinese, etc. but overall, women is still in the minority
being a woman is just such a historically/widely uphill struggle in tech
yeah women are still underrepresented compared to men
oh yeah that goes without saying
indian and asian females are brought up as typical asians right, just math + science from a young age so i dont get how that's so URM tbh
idk, those of u who grow up in america with high asian populations would have to attest to that
I think there's a big difference between Asians who grew up in Asian countries and Asian americans
I'm saying this as an Asian American
lol in my experience people who've grown up in america are more STEM'y than usual
I'm like the only one in my friend group (Asian Americans) who are in tech lol
you are seeing survivor bias because only the top asian make it
It encompasses it but Iโm saying there is a distinction within that encompass. Most likely if youโre black then Iโm willing to bet youโre most likely non-US born African. Again not that there is anything wrong with that, but I just donโt see a lot of โmeโ in tech you know? I guess to clarify also I mean black families that donโt have fairly recent family ties to people in Africa.
i mean i honestly don't know, maybe it's just cuz some of u asian americans grow up or are friends with the more influential side but maybe on the ugly side of town that's not how it is
lol well the indians ive seen growing up in the bay area are insane
my mom was just a normal chinese immigrant, not like a h1b doctor/engineer, so i had a relatively "normal" childhood
Besides my uncle Iโm the only person in tech in my family lol
my cousin is just 11 and he's learning python + robotics + html
yeah i believe this; i have seen this too
but my mom's friends families are insane
Asian Americans who are in the Bay Area are definitely going to be more influenced to go into tech because their parents probably work in tech
if you come from upper middle class family it is probably different
everyone did commerce/econ
did anyone get an email from twitter today?
lol nah
about your candidacy
its even more so for lower income families
a TON of indian/asian americans i know are working class/have parents that didnt even graduate college
like idk what it is with upper middle class *asian families and their kids basically being required to learn piano
my cousins aren't high income either
i think its very unfair to not provide opportuntiy to an entire group of people just bc you see some at the top that may have more opportunity
someone posted elsewhere yes some ppl got it
asian parents are tough on their kid I guess
my parents graudated college in my home country which doesnt mean shit here
i mean if most of your relatives are swes, aren't they doing pretty well for themselves?
there's a divide between asian american communities tbh - like if they are from southeast asia (philippines, malaysia, indonesia, etc) they're much less likely to be found in tech
i mean yeah it sucks but maybe there's such a high volume so even if only toop 5% of asians go to tech it's still a TON
my parents graduated from a no-name school in india and the school costs like 500 ruppees a year even today ($6)
the struggle man
All of you people in the regular twitter pipeline i pray for you. Youโll need it
the asian label in general is so wide encompassing though i feel u
the worst part in this is no one considers us as first gens even tho we actually are
but what i'm saying is just because Asian aren't URM doesn't mean they have more opportunity then URMs
they are still discriminated a lot in the workplace
you got a special ticket or what ๐
have yall heard of the bamboo ceiling?
Iโll be a diversity hire as usual is all
yeah I really don't like the generalization about all Asians being the same - there's a big difference between Asian countries - can't fit them all in one category
whats the bamboo ceiling
then the question becomes, which form of discrimination should we prioritize
- the kind that makes it hard for u to even pass the interview
- the kind that takes place at work
even within a country there are so many differences
asian men struggling to advance in their careers
Asians don't get management positions easily
lol my worst interviews have been with other indians
pain.
im not even surprised
The term "bamboo ceiling" was coined in 2005 by Jane Hyun in Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling: Career Strategies for Asians, where she addresses the barriers faced by many Asian Americans in the professional arena, such as stereotypes and racism, while also providing solutions to overcome these barriers. The bamboo ceiling, as defined by Jane Hyun, i...
both we don't have to deprioritize one
many higher level indian swe's have interviewed me; many
indian interviewers suck
yeah its rare - like you see a lot of Asian engineers but how many have you seen in the top positions
u right, this is tough cookies
again, can't look at absolute numbers tbh
yeah there are other cases of asian discrimination like in acting
oh yes
how many male asian leads can you think of
asians in acting have been fucked
like, even though there are a ton of asians in tech and a lot of higher ups does not mean they aren't discriminated against
interviewing is like 90% discrimination 10% skills
yeah that's why Crazy rich asians was such a big thing
we have to look at absolute numbers; if 70% of swe's are white/indian and male, this is HUGE
imo it just means more indians went for tech
Not shade or hate or anything to anyone, but all of my toughest interviews have been Indian interviewers
doesnt mean u should group indians with white
there could have been even more who wanted to get in
how old were they
I back up peepo, feel free to roast on hispanic interviewers too i don't mind lol
to be very blunt they probably just hate their lives
Across the board tbh. Young and older
I hope I do not get an interviewer that I can't understand
wow that's interesting
i've only had one hispanic interviewer
i thought most older interviewers don't care for leetcode
like either they couldn't become the next sundar pichai and they're salty about it so they throw the anger out at you in the form of a lc hard
i mean i agree but that doesnt have to do much w/ discrimination ime?
nah they just have a higher expectation tbh
some reddit thread yesterday on cscq about blind said it's mostly indian
is that true?
I donโt think so. I think they were just tough interviewers ๐คท๐พ
how
dude
they literally give hard interviews to everyone
this one time
thats not discrimination..
I couldnโt prove it even if I wanted to tbh.
ok?
i mean thats anecdotal
let's not generalize guys - i've had interviews with Indians and it was fine
man what the fuck?
yeah they said blind was mostly chinese and indian
^
im guessing a lot of them are immigrants
n = 1
different culture i guess
i've had kind indian interviewers as well
there are things in western culture which i appreciate a lot
i think generalizing any group literally leads to dividing society and more discrimination
it's discrimination to ask dumb shit questions like this one while others get asked easier stuff, which includes the popular hards
bruh idk what to tell u.
and another indian interviewer
Thatโs just interview rng when it comes to questions imo
what's wrong with generalizing, we're trying to learn here and we're all pretty open minded; culture and background is very influential
i was explaining some recursive calls to him
ehhh
tbh most of my south asian interviews have been nice
and he re-drew the whole thing in some confusing ass way
and kept getting aggressive at me
generalizign leads to stereotypes which leads to biases and thus discrimination
generalizing leads to stereotyping man
i dont think anything good comes out of generalizing
lmao me and farmer tcislife on the same wave
idk i just mean we're not in a professional setting so i think we can talk bluntly; but ok you're right i wont stereotype
agreed - it may seem "harmless" but it perpetuates stereotypes
if you are looking at any larger group
bro there are like almost 2 billion indians
not everyone is the same
one adjective/trait cant describe all of them
do you guys thank interviewers?
we're talking about a subset of a subset of humanity
thats true for any large group of ppl
ive had a few interviews with Indians and they were really nice
tbh
i say "thanks for your time"
by stereotyping, you essentially dehumanize them
Okay but serious question though, does anyone know the twitter interview process?
I thank them at the end of the interview
do u email them
^^
thank in person
or just at the end of interviews
like, you can say all 'x political party' supporter is dumb but
that makes no sense
tbh
no
don't have their email lol
okay good ty
Always at the end. Just a "thank you for your time". I also try to go for a linkedin connection if I feel like the mood is good enough.
Yeah can you guys take this to random ?
I don't think this is a good idea
Before we get bludgeoned
any generalization of a group is absurd since there is bound to be variation as groups of people get larger
Why is that?
i think colleges should require 1-2 statistics classes for everyone tbh
might prevent a lot of generalization/stereotypes that goes on
Fuck statistics. Itโs boring
๐
If you mean conflict of interest, I try to request post-decision.
lmao statistics is literally common sense at the basic level
It is until you teach me terminology that I donโt want to remember
a lot of issues and biases that people create are based off the fact that they don't understand sampling and measurements
I forgot everything from my stat class already
smh
oh in that case that's completely fine. I thought you were referring to before the interview or hearing back
Tbh I feel like even if you break it down they still wonโt listen
rip
Oh yeah no that's definitely not a great idea
Wondering the same
Not sure, especially with their university program (do that still have that?)
They do
I just donโt hear much about their interview process at all
I just got that twitter email everyone else is getting
^^^
i remember going to a twitter event but it was just like a dj thing
Yeah that email
if i remember correctly its an oa and then final
at least that's how it was last year
can poverty group be urm
See how I have my interview is a different process altogether afaik
Depends on how poverty you are
ig everyone's standard will be diff
jw what's your process
Something called their first flight program
GS and jpmc are probably full right
According to Glassdoor it is a three round interview
just prioritizing my OAs for now
i applied and they didnt even reject me so?
Jpmc is about full
it's not full yet? damn
I mean that is in feb
According to recruiter first flight program is almost guaranteed interview
i thought first flight was on dec
They have another
peepo do u have interview lined up already
o shit is it final or phone
Phone
for swe?
oh it's only for urm just realized
Facebook and Iโm assuming Iโll get twitter will be my last interviews this season
oops applied without seeing it
Yes
Is all of TwitterU URM only? It seems like it goes beyond the "heavily recommended" that other companies use.
Iโm done after those two. Tired of doing stuff this season
Honestly it seems like a lot of twitter is urm lol. They just hire so much from conference and diversity stuff
yea thats what i heard when i went to shpe national conference
shpe?
Yeah what is shpe lol
I see.
For a second I thought it was another startup that takes a word and removes a vowel ๐คฃ
HAHA
i would just toss up a coin
na im jk
i'd probably pick which ever would have the highest return rate
90% sure Iโll take Twitter ft offer between the two if in some miraculous way I get both
so i at least have an offer before the next season starts
As in which one I'd prefer to work at? Leaning towards FB because of their "move fast and break things" (unless they don't follow that anymore), though maybe working at Twitter give you a higher change of getting verified?
they changed it to "move fast" after the controversies they've gotten lol
Oof.
I feel like remote is a nice choice, but I'd prefer working in-office just to be able to communicate with people face to face. Seems like you lose a lot of communication without full body language.
if both companies have high return offer rates then i'd just pick the one that has more learning possibilities
yeah I think as a new grad you should prioritize being face-to-face since that's the best way to get good mentorship, though its nice to have some flexibility to wfh one or twice a week
Hmm interesting
Iโve been leaning heavily toward twitter for the pay and remote option
isn't the pay similar?
For the most part yeah it is fairly similar
Facebook scales quicker I think as you get promoted
anyone here hear back for amazon's applied science role?
id pick twitter bc i use their product more
or the app ig
twitter is such a good app imo
if only twitter's process wasn't so notoriously bad
Isn't FB app really good?
You can get really high quality ads
And random notification, let's not forget that random notification from your aunt
@dapper shard pick twitter
fb will literaally not give u a return offer if you dont produce enough LoC
wtf
Just document your code really, REALLY well :^)
friend on mine didnt get return offer even though her manager liked her because her skip (?) pulled up the diff tool and said she didnt write enough LoC @dapper shard
fb blacklisted from this discord now
also she said everyone she talked to at FB was kinda dead on the inside and just there for TC
lmao thats fucked
youll get enough TC at twitter anyway
oh so they seem just like good ol zucc anyway
I have heard FB internship are hard af
Is it true it's easier to pass new grad resume screening > internships?
There is also a video on YouTube about it
idk but i imagine interviews are more rigorous for new grad
at least in terms of num rounds
lol yeah my experience at fb wasn't great either
it's a good company tho
but too much emphasis on lines of code
^^^^
and really bad intern managers
write brackets on new lines
@runic tinsel is your name about the football player?

LOL
lol i was working weekends there as well
yeah FB has a tool where u can see aall other intern projects and LoC they wrote
Friendship ended with FB
my manager was a cuck
yeah I personally didn't do it but I've seen some interns do that
avoid that shit
Is it possible to apply for new grad 2022 and internships 2022 for the same place
๐ ?

Heyyyy im honestly pretty terrified about releasing this video, but I wanted to be super honest about my experience working at Facebook on the Instagram Ads Growth Team this summer. I honestly thought this was my dream job, and it turned out to not be what I expected:/
I want to clarify ...
damn tbh
no way lol
this makes me not want to even do facebook for fall
yea because data science isn't as impactful wrt final users, as in you get more time to ponder on things and run ad hoc queries but we had to ship code left right and center
So This true
i might find a different fall place to intern at
2s gaveu offer back? pog
have 2 flex all your offers on ๐
yeaah
no questions asked
look at all the dislikes on her vid
that's pretty cash money of them ngl
oh no - I think most of the data science interns worked on weekends - I didn't do it because I set personal boundaries
freaking astroturfers/haters
this chick is gonna get blacklisted lmao as if the lack of return offer isn't a blacklist in itself
who cares if she gets blacklisted, well im' sure she knows, we need brave souls like her
i mean she isnt planning on returning anyway
she got the experience and got out
sooooooo
Fb is worst than Amazon but pays a lot
i wonder if i've been blacklisted at fb tbh
lmao i think she is fine
yeah bruh it's your pfp
Is like investment banking
broo
anyone here not get a return offer from somewhere?
Chad Dorsey
my ex
got a return offer from Amazon and it's my only option
from which company?
amazon isnt bad lol
congrats!
most ppl here have bad experiences/know ppl with bad experiences at every big company
but its rly team dependent tbh
that's true but it lived up to it's fame ๐
o rip if your team wasnt good that sucks
no return offer == blacklist?
are you able to switch teams w the return?
Actually everyone I know that got a internship at FB is extremely good
And if they are working so hard to meet the bar
It means I would get destroyed
Only if you decline the offer and risk not getting placed - but it's my only option rn so not worth the risk
I mean I have Bloomberg final interview but I heard it's full so
ah fuckk
i see
hmm
u could always switch after amazon
If lines of code < X: get the fuck off FB
bad wlb, no privacy -- you see everyones information + projects + loc,
or, try to get any company possible for new grad and avoid amazon
like aim anywhere
Yikes
Yeah hoping to get a decent TC new grad and stay away from amazon
amazon should help you get plenty interviews at legacy tech and such worst case
and even better companies
surprisingly I netted less interviews this season than I did the previous
fb has an internal fb, if that makes sense, where ppl brag about the progress of their projects xd
with Amazon ๐
Do just 1 year at Amazon
huh wth
covid!!!
Tech lead talked about that
metafb
to not get doxxed I had additional projects, F500 + amazon this season
yeah it's called workplace
Ooh nice
got significantly worst response this year
What year are you?
oh damnn
Response from where?
whatd u think about that during ur internship? was it toxic
lol i have fb + another faangmula and im jobless atm
You are a goalscorer you will find something
I'm also a Canadian so that might play a factor
cavani just got injured tho ๐ฆ
Awesome.
