nope but we encourage that
The lack of disclosure is a bit of a bummer, but thank you for letting me know the policy.
I agree, unfortunately we are not currently making that a requirement but may do so in the future if there is a high demand.
I added this line to the job posting flow - "We also recommend including the salary along with the job posting" to help encourage it.
If you have any other ideas on how to help increase salary transparency, we'd love to hear about them.
IIRC Colorado based postings or a position a Coloradan can do remotely require it explicitly posted or linked to. https://cdle.colorado.gov/equalpaytransparency
Transparency in Pay and Opportunities for Promotion and Advancement
Effective January 1, 2021, Part 2 of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-101 et seq., requires employers to include compensation in job postings, notify employees of promotional opportunities, and keep job description and wage rate records. The Division investigates ...

I tried clicking on the link to apply to the talent collective, but it says I don't have permission to view the page - not sure if I'm the only one having this issue
Whoaa is looks like it’s not working for me now. Will look into this soon and update here
For now, please head to https://designbuddies.pallet.com/jobs > talent > apply to join. Thanks!
It’s working again! Small typo in the url. Fixed one and updated announcements - https://designbuddies.pallet.com/talent/join/RWWaXUUSzh9irLcUWniXJq/start
Thank you Kelsy for bringing this up!
@fervent shard That's correct. Re: Colorado.
As of April 2022, employers in New York City will be required to list the minimum and maximum salary on all job postings, promotions or transfer opportunities.
Another 9 parts of the US have laws wherein salary range must be provided if an applicant asks for it. Depending on the state, this can be before an interview, after an interview, or before an offer.
@waxen oxide The only way to guarantee more transparency is to require it. This is an ongoing discussion in several other design communities. The Content + UX community requires a range. There's no shortage of job postings either.
Edit: added link to Content+UX job submissions form to give an example.
Thanks for sharing! We will discuss and let you know. I didn't think about making salary ranges mandatory, but I like it.
mandatory before*
I don't know about others, but I don't apply to job listings without a salary range. It's a waste of time in my experience, because no range generally means non-competitive pay.
@soft musk I also think it sets a negative, antagonistic tone. Like they're trying to pay less than what someone is worth if they can get away with it, which make things worse for everyone in the job market.
Just be honest. What's the point in casting a wider net to get more candidates if people will bounce the moment they realize the offer is too low?
@magic mango We discussed and decided to make salary range mandatory. Couldn't think of a reason why not. Thank you for your feedback! Will be posting an update shortly 🙂
