#Background vs no background - Website Design

Hey! Uh.. I made a Design for a website which I'm globally happy about, but it seemed empty, so I started making a background for it.

I guess I'm here because I don't actually know if the background is adding any value to the overall website. Could you please give me some feedbacks in the versions without background vs the versions with background please?

Any help or feedback is helpful. Thank you!

Personally, find the background distracting. Maybe a light grey behind the questions, similar shape to the black below

yeah I think visually there is a bit too much going on. personally I would actually prefer there is the background but that there is no smaller pink background behind each image - the colorful shapes along the page are OK to me since they help break up the whitespace, but the pink background behind the images feels like it's warring for attention with the images themselves

Like many others have said, the background is distracting. If you want to keep the shapes, I would place them sparingly throughout the page (maybe have 5 shapes total) and not directly behind the image. Also, I would lighten the opacity of the colors so that they're not super vibrant and competing with the rest of the content.
