Pizza lovers question: When you visit a pizzeria for 1st time, what is the pizza test to order to see if the quality is good ?
mmm pizza
i think the crust
😋
Does dominos count as a pizzeria?
😆
Bruh, had the same question in mind😆
ngl i like pizza hut's breadsticks
The test order would be to order a basic pizza (cheese, tomatoes, other vegetables)
Okie. All this talk about pizzas is making me crave for pizzas
But, my family is doing some religious thingy... So, my parents won't allow me to eat a pizza
omg they are vegetarians right
Yes
I will order for you too
Honestly, I am a non-believer. So, I eat whatever I can
Has anyone ever heard of a role called "food scientist"?
yep
actually they are more into chemistry i guess
😮

food scientist studies the deterioration and processing of foods by using microbiology, engineering, and chemistry. They determine nutrient levels of food by analyzing its content. They look for new nutritional food sources and investigate avenues for making processed foods taste good, safe, and healthy. They also find the best way to distribute, process, preserve and package the food.
(Thats what I found online)
okay

Pineapple ✌️
😮
Pineapple on a pizza?
pineapple is valid because it adds sweetness but also pineaple sucks cause it burns ones mouth
my mouth is fine ngl
so for me, all positives 🤣
😄 I made a pizza yesterday using a pre-made base from market with loads of cheese..loool
One side of thing is you don't end up spending that much and at the same time also enjoy the whole process of making sauce and cutting veggies...etc..yum
PIZZA. WITH OR WITHOUT PINEAPPLES?!
we got bitoque pizza for lunch today and chef kiss
it’s minced meat, sauce and an fried egg
Without
Pineapple..oml
bite sized pizza pieces i would think
Breakfast pizza!
It’s actually “tsukimi,” or “moon viewing” pizza for the autumn harvest moon festival, but this one ends up being a breakfast pizza. Eggs, bacon, and sausage.
Never thought about other way round..pizza on pineapple..nice one haha..
OMG
Looks tasty
Fun prompt
What you all prefer in terms of cheese ?
React
Normal cheese 🍕
Extra cheese 🧀
Depends on the pizza
Depends on the pizza! We have a great one here that is extra cheese (no other toppings) with maple syrup, and that's amazing.
love chicken on pizza
Extra cheese 🤤
Best frozen pizza ?
I like the standard frozen pizza with tomatoes, onion, and capsicum
I tried a few other ones too, but they don't really taste good
Frozen pizza..heard this first time..
It's those mostly ready pizzas that you can buy. You just have to heat them for some time and they're ready to eat
Oh..seems every food item is available in frozen now..hehe...but imo freshly made food is best. 😜
I meant best brand of frozen pizza Newman's own? Freshchetta etc
I just checked their website..my bad I didn't get it.
Is it like everything comes in the pizza including toppings in a frozen form & then you just put in microwave ?
forgive me if I am wrong lol I never saw Frozen pizza so kind of new thing to me..😅
whoa!! It's by Paul Newman, the actor..and he gives 100% to charity from the profit!
That's so kind !!!!
Thanks to the invention of pizza & people like Paul, great contribution.
The brands are usually different based on the region. Like, I've never heard of those brands which you mentioned
really? you can go to a whole foods, target, or any supermarket. They sell them including amazon and walmart
No whole foods or target in Japan, yo. 😦
Yea, but we don't have those stores here. Amazon is basically all the local vendors itself
(I'm from India)
Lool..that thing you said about Amazon! 😂😂
Uh, what's funny? Amazon quite literally just provides an online platform for the local vendors. What's there to laugh?
Oh sorry I thought you are saying that sarcastically so I was laughing...because I think it is more like amazon is taking over local market here than helping them by selling its own products as alternatives for products sold by local vendors..so it is becoming local vendor itself I meant. Monopoly.
I don't want to discuss about this in this thread but that's what I think nobody is seeing.
Anything new?
Nope. :((
blah..couldn't make pizza again..seasonal veggies expensive..🥲
Anyone tried Pasta on pizza as topping ? 😅
I haven’t, but my sister who lives in Chicago keeps showing off this Mac and cheese pizza from a place near her apartment. I’m dying to try it!
oooh amc and cheese pizza sounds delicious
Right??
Four cheeses on half and char-grilled beef on half!
(I gave in and ordered pizza today. I had a coupon, though, so it wasn’t too bad.)
how was it? I've never had a chicago style pizza
I haven't either! Someday.
Chicago is still on the other side of the world from me.
i feel if i had chi style pizza i would needa knife and fork. I'm used to folding my slices
I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be eaten with a fork and/or spoon. xD
Imagine pasta with a hint of smokey flavor as a topping on pizza..yum!
I want it
Wow
wow that cheese string..oml
A resurrection!
There’s a new pizza at Japan Domino’s that I wanna try in the next couple weeks
I shall have to report back
What's the name?
Or, ingredients?
It’s part of a series of pizzas that are based on specialties from different parts of Japan, but the others don’t really appeal to me.
Oof, I'm a vegetarian... So, no idea what that would even taste like
The others are scallops, wasabi with beef, and corn with edamame
What is Edamame?
Boiled(?) soybeans in their shells (but unshelled on the pizza, ofc)
I like them, but probably not on pizza
And I’m definitely not a fan of corn on pizza
WHAAAA?
We are talking about that golden yellow thing that's also known as "Maize", right?
Yeah, but the sweet canned kind
Ah, the fresh one?
Yes
I don't think I've ever had canned corn
Whole cob boiled and buttered
Dunno. They just have a bad habit of putting corn on pizzas
Well, Japan imports approx $3.2B corn every year
Dang
That I believe
India produces 26M tons... That's why I have never had canned corn before, lol
India produces way more rice than Japan, too
India's second largest producer of rice with 119M tons after China (147M)
Japan is at 7.61M tons
Yup, consistently 9th or 10th
We did a quiz question on it last week in class
The kids were shocked lol
Hey,
Did you get a chance to try it out yet?
No ;-; It didn’t count for my coupon, so now I may never
40 USD is too much to spend on a single pizza lmao
Damn
None of the pizzas are that expensive here
Unless of course, you count US-style super long pizzas
Pizza is very pricy in Japan
We had $5 large pizzas in the US, but even the smaller ones here are $20. Luckily, you can almost always use a coupon to get it down to like $12-20 (M-L), but not for that special one :((
Wow, $5 for large pizzas?
I mean, even after currency conversion, it is cheaper than what we get here
It costs around ~$7 for a 14-inch pizza here
But, if you manage to get an offer, you could get two for less than ~$8
What about the not-so-plain ones?
pricier, up to 15 or so. real good ones are even more, but they're pretty rare
How about the basic veggie ones like tomato, onion, and corn?
veggie ones are pricy in the states, and in japan
no corn on pizza in the US that I know of, though
😮
What do vegetarians eat then?
expensive pizza
