#Figma Resumes

@tough osprey Did you look at figma exporting?
I remember figma did do a little weird thing on adobe acrobat where it was little squares around each one but I feel like that should still be readable though
Yeah I checked the PDF in Acrobat and tried editing it but the file wasn’t even readable on Acrobat DC. I’ve started reapplying for the jobs 🥲
When it comes to PDFs in figma I also realized there’s a lot of either bad coding or something cause the file sizes are ridiculously big
Figma doesn't embed fonts in the exported PDF. So, when you export into PDF, Figma inserts every single stroke of text as a SVG vector. That's what increases your file size and messes up with all the other programs. (I also made my resume from Figma, though I'm considering to redo it or something else)
True, the files were big
Makes sense
Yeah it’s a good idea to redo it
I'm planning to try Adobe XD or try something else like exporting the designed background and use it in Google Docs
Though Adobe XD only allows 2 PDF exports per design
I've been researching this... I guess I found something that may work... Check out these links:
This one is a SVG hack
Scroll here and someone explains how to convert Figma frames to MS Word
There is a way I know to convert from Figma to PDF (keeping editability: ability to select, copy and paste the text in the new document)
STEP 1. Simply…
For anyone watching this topic, and other PDF topics. PDFs exported from Figma make it difficult or impossible to highlight and copy specific text in the resulting PDF file. Hopefully this will improve over time. As a work around, I have been using the CopyDoc Text Kit plugin which creates a MS Word document that is much easier to work with. ...
It seems that this is a known issue since years, but it is not a priority for the Figma team
Oh thank you so much
