#What can I do if a client fed my design

Did you have a contract, or any documentation, message or written form of agreement for the project?
This is a hard thing to experience. There are two things that can help with avoiding moments like this: communication, and boundaries. Be more open throughout your employment, and get feedback often. Boundaries: use a contract to protect yourself and clearly define the outcome that is being paid for. Is it work done? Is it time spent?
I doubt you have legal recourse here though :/
unforturnately no, it was a friend's friend who wants to move fast. I had no trouble receiving the initial deposit, and they were very clear about paying me, so I thought it would be ok... lesson learned!
Best thing I can say is that this is a lesson learned, and I will for sure be adding a contract on what I will deliver in the future!
quick question: how would you guys approach revisions for this type of ui freelance work?
I guess my biggest confusion was that they didn't really "used" my design, but rather used a AI downgrade version that has strong resemblance to my work.
I believe the software team was also happier with the AI version as it is easier to vibe code it out ๐ค
Standards were good enough to use, so they're good enough to get paid for.
