It's adorable. My only thought is it seems a tad...laggy? Is there a way to make it a bit quicker and smoother upon transitions?

Wow, love the concept. I see a problem with contrast though. Legibility of the text could be a problem here. Also feels a bit too slow.
Everthing is happening in the bottom center. If you really wanna grab the attention, I feel like it should be a bit higher than that.
