Hello

deft sierra
#

hi, i was trying to find that other thread but it dissapeared to me

#

so imma answer you that question you've made before

#

the main reason that i've decided this transition to ux/ui is because i've seen that i have more potential in design than programming.

#

going more deep, i saw it's something that makes me feel alive, i feel joy in doing it, time goes fast when i do something related to like studying/prototyping

#

especially UX contents

#

lemme show what i’ve been studying. it’s for my thesis in college.

#

“Cognitive engineering design focuses on creating systems that align with human cognitive abilities and limitations, improving usability and reducing errors. It involves analyzing how people think and interact with technology, then applying that knowledge to design more intuitive and effective systems.”

#

It talks about the two gulfs: evaluation and execution.

I totally get that, my main reason I wanted to do UX is because I wanted to design beautiful things that were functional. It's amazing how integral psychology can be applied to the field

#

I will say though, that you knowing both coding and design will make you one of those "unicorns" in the field that everyone wants to have

deft sierra
#

exactly! it’s insane and beautiful.

remember the cognitive engineering subject i was talking about?

read this:

“Cognitive engineering is a multidisciplinary field that combines knowledge from:
• Cognitive Psychology
• Computer Science
• Neuroscience
• Among other fields…

#

cognitive psychology and neuroscience brought my attention.

about the neuroscience:
“ it helps us understand how the brain processes information, emotions, and decision-making—insights that designers can use to create more intuitive, engaging, and user-centered experiences.”

example ^

#

for example if a person in the company see the “total customers” graphic they can make questions like: oh, our number of total customers decreased a lot this month. what are we doing wrong?

wordpress is a tool to make websites without needing to know how to code.
