#how to make this logo better?
1 messages Β· Page 1 of 1 (latest)
What's the team/band/community name? (and how are those all the same thing? Like, musical band? Or like a tribe?)
If you want an organic feel to it, which it seems you do, I would edit one side to not be perfectly mirrored. Starting with a mirror gives you a good base to keep it relatively symmetrical, but it could use variation to look more believably hand-drawn.
On the other hand, if you don't want it to be organic, you should even out those shapes, or use a stroked line, rather than filled shapes.
Be careful of the rather narrow shapes and negative spaces, especially around the centre base. When you shrink the logo to 24px, those will disappear. You want to make sure crucial details don't get lost when you reduce to a tiny size, or have an alternate filled version for that purpose. Even then, your negative space needs attention.
I'm seeing either fire or a lotus, or both. This could use some clarifying, especially if it's not supposed to be either of those things π
How is this going to be used? Like, where? On what? Will a wordmark be attached?
Should be used as an organization. for Gaming, Music etc. etc. should be suitable for 3d stuff and profile pictures. and id like it to be symmetrical
How would I make it bolder, in my opinion it seems slim?
Well, by thickening the lines
Yeah
If you like the external silhouette, anyway (which I think works fine)
The middle point could go a bit higher.
yeah
thanks
ill try that
would it look better closing the center part?
btw its a lotus :>
heres what is up now
i feel the center part is too bold?
Then even it out, so it's closer to the other ones.
The difference in line weight does give it a sense of depth, though.
That looks pretty good. Now it's down to the details and the shape language. Those little curves near the base of the petals mean something, and you want to make sure they're describing what you want them to.
Gonna do some drawing over, gimme a few minutes
Hehehe, don't worry, still working on it. I won't forget to reply
dauym. Thats really impressive! i really appreciate that. ill get started vectoring!
you're really creative! + rep
Happy to help!
something feels off
lowkey my vectoring skills aren't the best, would you be able to help vectorizing or would that cost?
Do not pay anyone on here to mentor you.
i also dont wanna force you you know
oh, thanks!
did not expect that
I can give you pointers, for sure. I'm not going to do the work for you, but I can watch you and show you how to have more control.
i can probably in a few minutes
K. We can hop in the cafe channel.
Dunno how we're gonna communicate without a mic. But, sure, if you can type in real time π
I'm gonna speak, 'cause it's easier
Do you guys mind if i join and just listen? I won't talk or type anything.. I just wanna see. Will that be a problem?

Thx π

ctrl on affinity π
Alright

thanks for teaching
ill try that out

this is the first shape
the half of the center part
@zenith sparrow is roung corners alright? or is that a crime?
can i quickly show you in the screen share?
ill quickly do something
alright
@zenith sparrow so this point is a little bit sharp
so i wanted to know if i should round it?
and now its that thing
which kinda make it "wobbly"
@zenith sparrow what is wrong with this shape?
now. how do i make an "inward" thingy?
like i do but i don't know who to do it without not aligning the two "curves"
like this?
yeah sure!
alright! thanks to know it make much sence! well said
