At a glance on the first screen, spacing looks really close, lacking visual hierarchy, and not a fan of the allcaps formatting since it's not very gentle on the eyes
Overall, remember to be considerate of distributing elements equally and giving them enough space for larger fingers, etc.
The little drawer interaction could be more intuitive by having a little "handle" or close icon
Appreciate it, fixed some of those things but I've had the "too clamped up" feedback quite a bit
I'm also not sure if the "clamped up" feeling is a side effect of showing UI of a phone outside of a phone, but will very much be careful and fix try to improve that
you can add some space here to seperate these two blocks and make it more readable
there's a ton of white space on top and bottom so maybe put the welcome to kofi text on the very top
then the body text
and a big gap followed by the text for countries
something like this
now i just made this in like 20 secs but you get the idea 🤣
and maybe add some visuals to make it more welcoming
and why's the search area button pops on the top end of the screen? it should be lowered down to make it easier for users to interact with one hand
always try to bring the most critical buttons in accessible areas on screen
I just realized the homescreen bullet points are buttons, in that case just make them look and feel like buttons!
don't use text without any hint that it's a clickable button
also for this a drag is good, but you can add a close button on top right for people who prefer that ( it also doubles as a signifier )
you can swap the positions of those top filter buttons with the list view button as I believe many people would like to have that instead of a list of restaurants? ( need a research derived decision on that one )
The list looks very crowded when you open at 0:13. I would add a line and proper spacing. The header is too close to the paragraph text.
why not to automate button “search in area” in map?
Hmm, I think my first question is, why would I want to use this? I go to coffee shops a lot, but usually the same ones and if they're closed, I just go to GMaps
Is there a clear problem the user is experiencing that this addresses?
Yes, Google maps is unclear what coffee shops offer or needs you to look stuff up:
Do I need Wifi?
If I’m willing to stay there a few hours, I want outlets, I want food (not just cookies and muffins). Some places don’t even offer seating (or so little that they are taken). Gmaps makes it really hard to find the suited stuff (or you have to start browsing photos, or worse get there in person) that I always end up at the same places.
Plus I’ve been traveling a lot recently, often in new cities and looking for new places, Google maps super hit and miss.
