oooh gonna try to be active more w designing, so ill stay tuned :D

Would love to be able to work at Pinterest, Apple, or Google some day 😁
i'm considering switching, if a good oportunity comes my way
been in the field 3 years almost
ahh tyy!!! let me go follow u back
Would love to work at Etsy, Airbnb, Rivian, or Google someday!
for me it’s amazon but specifically prime video/mgm studios… i love their content haha
for me maybe apple or games?
Would love to work for TikTok, Twitch or Amazon! definitely really long term goals because I’m just starting to build my portfolio
Anything in the airline industry would be close to what I'm doing now. I'm also interested in Discord
Viz Media, Crunchyroll, and any cartoon/animation studios!
Also if anyone is interred in Disney lmk^^ I worked there as a Graphic Designer
i used to work in the games industry! and discord used to be my dream company hahaha. but i still love their product!!
anyone interested in startups? :0
would love to work in the games industry! Especially smaller/indie games or mobile (:
I would love any startups to get my career started! I’m located in Seattle so I bet there’s plenty
aiming for roblox!!
Would love to work as independent for nonprofits, or Creative Director for a non profit (environmental)
Wanna specialize in language design to make learning languages easier for people
Are there any indie game studios/startups you have connections in, Grace? 😯
been noticing lots of gaming and entertainment 😄
Also interested in tech or health startups in the midwest, if you’ve got any connections there
I'd love to work at a game studio, esp an indie game studio.
i know a bunch of startups in sf. mainly B2B SaaS AI LOL and some consumer
I'm cool w startups of any kind too!
oh riot games would be a dream too
I got this ping at 4:21 am in the morning. Really need to remember to manually crash discord and put notif block on.
On the topic though, I would love to work as an XR UX Designer for either Bigscreen's Beyond VR headset user experience... Or well, Shapelab. Though I have chased after them enough to understand they don't have a use for me unless I roll up my sleeves and learn all the technical sides of XR. Wish me luck. 🥲
I'm in Seattle too!
but one of our goals with design buddies is to help more designers land jobs! so i wanna know what all your goals are!
bc i know so many startup founders in sf and online and often times they are looking for designers
my goal is to land a job
I am interested to work as a full stack developer, if you can connect me with them, it will be a huge help for me. @vale ether
simple goal but apparently not 😭
I don’t know how I would break into this field but doing UX Design for any Beauty Company/Startup would be so amazing
I’m also based in SF/bay area! I work a full time job at a creative company, but any freelance also?
Hoping to go full time design/illustration but for now I’m a pm!
Please let me know if they are also looking for a developer.
often times they are, i struggle with keeping track of every job but i always ask them to post in #💼paid-opportunities !
we're looking to partner more with startups and recruiting teams, more coming soon! i want to do some outbound bc everything ive done so far for db has been inbound
kinda watching on how the animation/gaming industry will hopefully recover🙏🏽 but since im turning to product design in the meantime, its between apple, discord, notion, figma or pintrest for me! but i have been looking for startups 👀
That sounds awesome! Would love to connect with more startups
The browser company of new york
we are starting this soon with startups! hoping they can also hire the designers full time after https://www.designbuddies.community/project-partner
also a partnership with linkedin recruiting and google recruiting
more to come :))) if anyone knows any cool startups and big tech recruiters, would love to connect with them
Assess and hire top design talent based on actual performance, not just resumes. Gain fresh perspectives on your projects, fill designer roles, and give back to the next generation of designers
I want to do something with video game companies or non-profits that help the environment/ animals. Maybe the EPA might be one of my dream companies? I'm not sure if they need UX Designers though
will try to focus on more gaming/media/entertainment 😄
haha b2b saas aint that appealing (i understand hahaha)
This is cool initiative. I would maybe like to switch or maybe start my own studio. I am still thinking... But anyway this is great
I think it would be awesome to work in the climate tech/sustainability space some day (: Watershed has a cool design team
Spotify is probably my dream company! I’m also interested in Apple, Google, Microsoft, Pinterest, and Discord! I’m super open to any kind of paid design opportunities though so I’m totally open to startups! I’ve worked with a startup before and I’m always open to more design opps to expand my experience 🙂
Also the partnerships sound exciting!!
while i've enjoyed the work i've done for startups, for my summer 2025 internship i'm looking for a job at a larger company so i can work with an established ux team instead of starting from the group up. it would be great to find mid-sized companies who have internship programs for students, where they can work in a team to deliver a project with a smaller scope.
btw im also saving this thread to reach out to people here when a company someone listed reaches out to me looking for designers!! 😄
i would also love to work at UX centered companies like Baymard Institute, who have a very high UX maturity. i think it would be a fantastic educational experience for students, to run UX audits on other sites and to work with people making headway in this field
Ohhh as an Australian student who's studying interaction design as a major currently, Canva, Procreate, or Atlassian!
Other companies that dabble with creatives such as Shopify, Etsy, or Pinterest would also be nice ^^
I mean any video games company would be a given but specifically Outfit7, MiHoYo, Nintendo and also Discord, Pinterest and Google for Interaction Design :D
And for art and storyboard stuff I would love to work at Disney one day :')
To be honest I want to go somewhere that has a good company culture. I've heard great things about Microsoft and Workday (i interned at workday as a graphic designer but my career goals are in ux), though I can't apply for their internships anymore because I'm about to graduate 😔
Other than those two, apple, I guess any faang, and im also down to work for startups as long as the compensation is good! Also airline companies, super interested in that industry :> I do want to try getting into fintech or tech for healthcare-im really interested in ux in health!
I love healthcare and goal would to be in UX healthcare company. Also would like Google, Apple, or any FAANG, Pinterest, Figma, Any Airline companies.
I currently intern at a start up related to health for athletes. It’s been nice but also difficult to get tasks for ui/UX design as they have a product already so doing more marketing materials, etc. but I am currently working on some sign up pages and a website redesign this past week which has been nice.
If anyone has any start up experience would love to pick your brain on how you managed and grew as a designer if it was just you.
I love UX health. I took a course in college about EHR systems like epic and wow opened my eyes to see how they need help making it easier for doctors to get information on patients and also add new information.
I love to work in health related startups! @vale ether
Working/studying industrial design, working for military and defence start ups would be cool. Like anduril. If not anything outdoor related gear. Otherwise, starting my own company is cool as well in those catagories.
this has been brought up quite a lot, but i’m absolutely interested in companies in the game industry as well!! my style suits mobile or anime-style games more in particular (being a 2D game artist), but i’m always open to anything that presents an opportunity.
unfortunately i’ve got a bit of a language barrier in between myself and my dream companies so it’ll take a while before i get to reach them
and thanks for the thread btw!!
Oh yes for sure! I think healthcare ux is so underrated-the information architecture and such is super super interesting. Epic came to my school for a career fair session last semester and i spoke with them about their work and it was really cool! I dont remember much of the specifics but i remember thinking their design organization thought process was very interesting
Hii! Two companies I’m interested in are Mochi Health and Disney. I have lots of experience working on building design systems and also UI focused work.
Love this thread! My dream is to work at Headspace as a design lead. I work in NYC at a start up now managing a team of designers. I use headspace and was really convinced when I heard them speak at figjam a few years ago.
I have so many different passions, but things that immediately come to mind would be design and productivity tools (Figma, Webflow, Notion, Linear), music creation (DAWs, notation), and games, especially story-driven RPGs (CD Projekt, FromSoftware, Larian, Guerilla)
Spotify!
I'd love to work for an edtech company!
I'm a former teacher who has spent a lot of time working with kids, parents, and with curriculum, and dug deep into a ton of edtech products during the pandemic to find new ways to engage students.
My design interests extend beyond edtech, but given the current job market and that I'm a junior designer, I think this is where I can make the most impact as a designer. I often hear from people about how there are so many transferable skills from teaching to design, but the leads have been slim, so I'd welcome any connections or leads @vale ether or anyone else in this thread may have! 🙂
At this point I'm open to almost anything. Ideally they'd be putting something that helps people vs just managing hedgefund type stuff.
I'm a senior product/ux designer and I've been looking since last October. Specialize in ongoing enterprise-level applications and SaaS products.
Love this thread! I think for me i want to transition into a career within the beauty/fashion space as a graphic designer or design lead. I’ve mainly worked with small non profit orgs currently so not sure how to go about it but if anyone has any leads or suggestions pls lmk!
Somewhere good
For me it is Procreate (which is based in Hobart, and I have already applied for their designer position) and TestGorllia (the full-remote, digital nomad friendly startup. Discussed with their HR last year but sadly didn't proceed further)
for me it’s build your corner, retrodotapp, perplexity, and Pinterest or Arena
does it have to be US-based ? 😅
I would love to work at the BBC, itv, SkyNews or Channel 4 in the UK, as a Graphic Designer 🤗 I have a bit of experience in the media industry and as a creative designer too~
I might be interested in working at ~~ EA (Electronic Arts) or Roblox 🙂 ~~
Yes! I have a few local ad agencies that I've interned at that I really want to go to after school, or even Pentagram.
