#Feedback on Starbucks x AI case study

Nice work! @digital swallow !
I like how you have gone for a gradient look and feel for the different types of Starbucks drinks you have presented. Your poster mockups are quite good.
Here are a few suggestions that I would like to share regarding your Starbucks x AI Campaign:
-
For the Cool Lime drink, why not incorporate the color of the lime within the gradient?
-
I think it would look nice if the type did not have those bright white stars. Instead, find a font style that connects with the Starbucks drink theme.
-
The gradient background is somehow conflicting with the drink's color, so I would recommend a color like a light shade of grey that will make the drink the main subject.
Thank you for highlighting Ara š
Thank you so much lovely! Will work on this now. If you have any other feedback please let me know. I agree about the gradients clashing
You're welcome! I'm glad the feedback was helpful. Feel free to reach out if you need any more input or have any other questions. Good luck with your project
I just applied the changes: changed the background colour. Incorporated the line colour in the cool lime insta post.
I kept the sparkles and typeface the same as itās within the Starbucks AI guidelines
I made some other changes. Would appreciate if you can take a look and let me know what you think! Thanks
Awesome š
I'd be happy to take a look at the changes. It's good to hear you're keeping within the Starbucks AI guidelines while making adjustments. I'll review your updates and get back to you with feedback soon.
Thank you
the typography here needs to be improved
as well as the animations
bad contrast
also one big question, why did you go with those colors? there's no explaination regarding the choice of colors. Imo it's a bad thing to stripe brand of it's original colors when rebranding especially with starbucks as everyone already associates it with green
none of these colors go well together, I mean the gradients are really smooth and nice but it's not helping whatever's on top
even the QR code is too faded, ovevertime that board gonna be wethered even more making it unusable
same thing here, the logo is sticking out and not in a good way, you could have gone all in and changed the logo colors as well if you're going this hard on rebranding the rest of it
overall a fun idea to explore but it lacks direction and cohesion
Hello, Starbucks donāt use predominantly green anymore in their work like on their website they incorporate a lot of pinks and yellows now especially for the summer campaigns
I still kept some of the Starbucks greens an accent of course (like on the stickers and some parts of the text so the green doesnāt get lost).
The gradient colours reflects the notion of AI and many ai based brands use gradients (i.e Gemini). But maybe I could include a brand guideline page to explain my choice of colours/stylistic desicions? The font choices are also within the Starbucks guideline. But
I agree at times the colours clash. If you can provide any examples of ways to improve the colours going well together would be great. And ways typography could be improved etc too? Thanks š
it's a summer campaign, so it makes sense to ditch the colors for this event to add those summer vibes, all brands do that unless they are really dialed and focused on their branding. Their event colors are not reflective of their brand colors people still associate them with green.
exactly trying to preserve some green just made it stick out, you could have either A. Used greens everywhere or B. Rebranded the logo colors to suit your redesign
you can't have both at the same time, it doesn't work
and a side note: their campaign can use those flashy colors because it's a fading event nothing drastic that would alter company's perception by it's customers
I don't have any problem with a gradient, but those colors need to speak for themselves and yes they do here since it's ai and high tech stuff but it's really clashing with the green as you said
Ah I see. Do you suggest I change all of the copy on the poster to a green colour? Ditching the white?
I could give you an example but There's no brand guidelines posted anywhere so where do i begin? is it targeting young generation like gen z who likes trends? or more focused on rich customers who want a premium experience
The coffee shop you posted there is really giving me kawaii and young vibes, so maybe you're targeting young customers here
you mean the text will be all green? or everything including background gradient
Just the text
Yes itās targeting gen z. Iāve written a whole manifesto somewhere else outlining the target market
Maybe would be good to write this down ?
that would really set the tone yea
is this a ui project or does this involve UX and User research too
add the UX part if you have
another one, this button fails the contrast ratio of 3:1
Itās just a general brand campaign, the UI just helps support the overall idea. The core notion behind the campaign is the idea (Iāve written the brief myself and come up with the strategy too etc)
What do you mean by contrast ratio?
There are guidelines for text to be used in designs
A contrast ratio ensures the text is visible and accessible to everyone from young people with a perfect set of eyes to old
Basically make the text color contrast with background
Pastel background and a white text is the least contrasty duo
Ok thanks. For the posters etc do you suggest I change the text to green instead of white?
Honestly that would make it much readable but it will not be pleasing to look at imo, so just keep it as is
@devout pumice @opal wigeon hey! just applied your feedback (updated on the website) .
Will also make the background colours more of a deeper lavender colour when I get home. Also darken the gradients up slightly so the white text pops more. Do let me know if thereās anything else I need to do? Really want to nail this to land a good role. Thanks
This looks much better. The light purple background complements the Starbucks drinks really well and works nicely with the gradient effect.
For the Cool Lime post, I felt that the shiny bright stars sort of take away attention from the main drink. Also, would it be possible to change the gradient background to light purple?
Huge improvement @digital swallow
Every criticism I made has been addressed in some way, that's the way
you've made a type, Personalisation -> Personalization
I think you should make this text bigger, it would be a nice greeting and will make it even more readable and establish a good hierarchy
this mockup feels a bit odd, you should maybe not italicize the green text on top
apart from these 2 I don't have anything major to point out
also maybe try putting the logo in center above the text? it just feels so odd with the layout
you could try a lot of things with the type here, there's a lot of potential as you have already established good colors with the drinkn and background
omg ur webpage is amazing and ur idea gradient looks are amazing i really love them and i even like the ideas of senso
