Hello everyone,

I reworked my portfolio recently and I would really appreciate some feedback. I don't have any professional experience yet so my goal right now is securing an internship or even a junior position if possible. I'm still working on more case studies to add.

I would specifically appreciate some feedback on the structure and detail of my case studies and any other insight on what I should add or change to the overall portfolio. Thank you so much for your time!

hey nicc. clean folio. wondering if u used a template

#

id suggest changing these headings from just being steps in your design process to the "what, why and how" of a problem you solved

#

wireframes r cool n all. but theyre just a tool of sorts. explaining how u used pen/paper, and then moved to digital templates feels like ur just checking off steps in the typical 5 stage design process ppl like to glorify.

being able to perform all those steps is cool n all but the case study should focus more on the insights u achieved at each step, and the problems u solved by the end. not the steps themselves.

I made the same mistake when I worked on my case studies, so I totally get how it's easy to lose yourself in the very linear and structured approach the "mental design process" checklist provides

#

spacings n alignment could use some help here

#

love the gif

#

type could be improved here too. i feel like the body is too close to the headings, n the color is too dark

to continue with the comment of focusing more on the insights at each step rather than the steps themselves, since it's one of the most important aspects to a case study:

the way you can fix this is by making the headings the story themselves. Invert the heading and the content so instead of saying I did paper wireframes: on my wireframes, I focused on the core features we identified in research
you can say:
Focusing on the Core Features: To make sure I had a solid base, I wanted to build out a version on pen and paper first.

  1. makes your headings more scannable
  2. creates a story through the page
  3. shows your decision making and why you chose to do what you did

Then you can look back at all the headings, and if they don't fit together, or there's a gap between some, you'll know you need to fix something
