Any suggestions on places to go for research?
Video can help. You can also look research companies and apps (outside of facebook and discord) who have created social media apps or therapy apps. Also, try to see what their target demographics are. You can look at comments to see what features users don't like or want in an app or website.
Research is a broad term because there's a lot of things you can do, but some methods in different situations won't work.
And I would not recommend @ mentioning people all the time. Some people might see as I spamming. I don't but others will. You're not the only thread.
What problems are people just facing in general, Why do they use these platforms, etc
I made a video but wrote this: Facebook therapy options overview: Although you can search up therapy groups in Facebook, it's not the easiest process to find the right group. Even though you can message people directly, send a voice message, get on a videochat or voicechat, finding specific people who can help you isn't easy. Even if you do, and your looking for someone or people to talk to, your limited to the posts that are already available and the people in them. If you post, you don't know who'll respond or what they will say, finding specifc people to connect with is difficult because of the limited options available. You can't always choose from a group specific to a certain emotional problem or support, there are people promoting their services which can be helpful if you just happen to need it, but those services often cost money and some people who need serious help can't afford it. When using Facebook to connect to people, whether your looking for someone to talk to, a service or specific need... Facebook's limiting options make getting help, a roll of the dice, but Facebook isn't specifically catered to therapy since it's a social media platform catered to posting about anything. And I mean just about anything, making therapy a sub genre. But Facebook was made for people to socially connect, not for therapy, therapy is just a small option.
Problem: Facebook doesn't make it easy to find help if you need it, especially a specific kind of help. It's not a platform for it, even if it does have the option, it's simply not a great option. It's options are limiting and it's not easy to find specific people to connect to.
This is basically a rough draft.
Great start. You'll probably need a couple more companies though. Maybe google search actual platforms that provide specific help? Like 7 Cups? Blah Therapy?
Yeah, this was just a start.
And thanks for the encouragement, it's nice to hear. I need a lot of it. I've been put down so many times. It's refreshing to hear something nice.
Do I need a video for each one?
How come I can't see the other threads?
Just one brief video should be fine
You have to go back to the ask professional channel to see other conversations.
Or even just making a chart.
What's a flow chart?
I just meant to say chart.
Like a chart comparing and contrasting your findings. Video is good as well for digesting information.
@topaz marsh : It sounds like you need or want a mentor or someone else to guide you through this process. Am I right or am I projecting because of the loan issue?
