I donāt think that the artwork itself is bad, but whether or not it deserves a D grade is entirely dependent on what the assignment was for. If your project didnāt follow the project requirements, then it could be worthy of a D even if the graphics look nice

What exactly were the requirements the prof was looking for? Without knowing and just seeing it from a outsider view, the cards are week in regards of design but the artwork carries it a bit but not much since they all donāt have any consistency in styles

The requirement where creating women art history trading cards but wanted me do self portraits representing each artist but I told him that would be controversial since I am white. My plan was just redesigning there portraits in illustration but didnāt like my idea so I decided to take pictures of my dog representing as them, which was challenging for me. I donāt think I deserve a D perhaps a C but was passing other students for not completing the assignment
Anyways I donāt really trust the professor opinion but my plan how I can make this much better.

@sage wing he also want me to take pictures of myself and portray the artist but thatās also controversial. I was somewhat force to continue a project that I felt uncomfortable with. He somewhat bargain me if I do it successfully it would be A. So I donāt know what to do š

Not sure what to say about the uncomfortable feeling you are getting but a self portrait of you in the artist style might work better since you can frame it as how would the artist see u that way it isnt as controversial and it would be easy to manipulate in photoshop. But yeah gotta say the dog thing is much more of a yikes

@tall dove I think it would be better if I caricature design the female artist in their self portrait. Sorry for the misunderstanding ummm so my professor wanted me to take a self portrait of myself and represent each female artist and Iām white Salvadoran and I donāt think that would set well. Iām just frustrated of this project honestly and it was a nightmare š¬.
If I would dress up as some Frida that would be i donāt know man.
But I rather paint them as they where in there self portrait

i mean you can do that, if you back it up theres not much you can do but since this is a class thing and it really wont matter if your other work is getting a better grade it might be better just to take the l and learn how to back yourself on design choices when you get the brief. this is part of the design process unfortunately to back up and sometimes take feedback to try to make it better but it sounds like this is just a headache and you can do better in the next assignment?
