are you planning on working on mostly building prototypes, prototype + building the websites or maybe the ux part more than the ui?
honestly i hadn’t considered that too deeply yet, i could go any direction!! i have some front end development background and i am very interested in pursuing a masters in hci, as well, so ux and research would be cool, too. for now i think i am more interested in learning the process of prototyping and ui development itself.
I ask that because there's a lot of places you could start with ui/ux depending on the end goals you have, some people only focus on strategy + prototyping in figma, and then handling off the finished projects to the developer which then builds the actual website. or with the tools there is available rn you can even do all the previous work and then build the website yourself with no code, it's not as straightforward as a design program like figma where you drag blocks and they're placed there, but not as boring/tedious as learning to code a website, I'm doing the 2nd one but know some designers that are fine with only doing the prototype and strategy part!
I don’t even know of the no code website builders - can I ask what some of those might be? I’d def be interested in that
there's 2 very popular ones, the one I used and the most famous one is called webflow, they have a section on their website called webflow university where they teach you all about how to use the builder from scratch to actually delivering a website to the client, their videos are far from boring and feel more entertaining like a netflix show than an actual course lol
the other is framer, which is more similar to figma on how you build the website, but it has it's limitations if you try to make very complex sites compared to webflow, but people use it to design simple websites way faster than webflow
I did a webflow course separate from the university thing I mentioned I can share it w u, highly recomment it
i'm trynna do a framer course now that I'm done learning webflow for now
oooh 1000% that’d be great if you could share those!! although I know some web development, it is def still a hassle sometimes and I would love a no code option lol
Here's the webflow one: https://www.udemy.com/course/freelance-web-design-from-design-to-development-to-making-money/ (it also goes a bit into design theory and figma so webflow starts halfway through the course) (and I finished this one recently and it's pretty good I finished the course excited to learn more about stuff I didn't learn in it)
