#V 62.3 Gift Reset Fails

did you try skipping the hover over bag step and just pressing start program by the pokeball?
Yes, it doesn’t initiate the programme either, he just sits there in front of the pokeball
Actually I tried it two more times and it has started the programme properly now
Of course 🙂
Thanks for the idea though, skipping the hover over bag step and then starting the programme 2-3 times seems to kick things off properly. Just in case anyone else has the same issue.
yup seems to work for me, not even sure why the bag step was included, maybe once its updated more ill understand
im curious will the program stop after the shiny is shown or will i have to manually stop the program
Will let you know if a shiny appears lol
ill will let u know as well because i want to walk around id be sad if it doesnt stop the program LOL
the cursor needs to be in the top slot, as after the gift pokemon is obtained it expects to move down x number of times (none, in the case of the starters) to reach the party menu. if the cursor is on another menu item, it'll open the wrong menu.
I'll update the instructions to say to close the menu after moving the cursor back up
and update the program to attempt to repeat the initial A press if missed
Wasn't sure whether to make a new thread or reply to this one so i'll try here first, I seem to be having a similar issue hunting bulbasaur, I hit start program, and an initial a press goes through, but then it hangs and gives no recognized state, this happens no matter what step I begin the process in
hangs on the first dialog box with the starter displayed in the center and a red selection arrow? I did some fixes earlier, see the discussion in #automation-chat. see if that's the same issue?
Seems similar, hangs here, seems to be just sending a single a press and then hanging as if I try and start the program on this screen it does the same thing
Program seems to initialize, this is it before the error appears, I'm assuming the red boxes read data and thats why it needs to be frame 1 in the options:
If it's something I'm doing wrong or if I can provide more info please let me know
yep, the red boxes show where its's looking for solid colors. in this case, it seems like screen size is less than 100%, can you check your resolution and settings? this is where the boxes expect to align.
Ahh, This is the only resolution I have available to me, let me check my switch settings too just in case? It's not because I'm on the switch 2 is it?
might have it fixed, it seems like my screen size might have been set lower, testing now, if thats the case sorry for the false alarm!
That was it, my apologies! Good to know for other people having with similar issues
oh good, glad it's working for you now
In the past, half the error reports were from people running < 100% screen size. Then we added the black border check and that all went away.
I get that we took it out for FRLG because it always has a border, but we'll need to add it back in some form or another.
really wish they had aligned it to the top instead of having that tiny black bar, since the official release is already off center vertically anyway
As a stop-gap measure, we can go Home and re-enter game at the start of every FRLG program. There we can assert full screen.
Had this issue myself. After correcting my screen size I did manage to get the program to work by just repeatedly starting/stopping the program until it decided (seemingly arbitrarily) to work.
Here's confirmation that the program does produce results though. :3
How many hours? I left it running over night and still no luck
How did you fix the screen size? I tried it within the program, pulled out of the program and full screen but kept getting the error. On switch 1 and 2 as well
I seem to be having the same issue as robowarrior834. Screenshots show the switch screen well but red box shows where he has it
@pale lagoon did you keep resetting the video option or just keep closing and opening the application?
The screen size option in the Switch's settings; sometimes, like in my case, the screen size has been changed and simply forgotten about.
Neither. I just kept starting and stopping the Gift Reset program until it decided to start progressing.
I had it running for about 2100 resets, give or take. Went for around 24 hours straight before finding the shiny, which is about right for full odds I'd say
still no luck
Finally got it working, thank you for the help with setting it up. My screen size was wrong and I just spammed start and stop until it worked
Good to hear!
