#[PLZA] Am I Overworld Resetting right?

Been having my bot run for 1660 resets at this point and no hits. Not sure if I'm just unlucky or if I maybe have the program set up incorrectly. I think I have everything right, just figured to check.

For that Lopp specifically, try Wild Zone Entrance program at the entrance to that zone. Let it run for a while and it'll eventually be a shalpha.

#

It didn't take too long for me that way. Plus you get maybe a Fennekin on the roof, Swablu/Altaria, etc. (if those are in range, i forget.)

I am intentionally only doing Overworld Resetting as I recall something about there being a limit to the number of shinies that can appear in the world. I wanted to only hunt after the ones I actually wanted to avoid accidentally missing shinies and making it more difficult in the future.

That said, I'm not sure if how I set it up here is working. I can't imagine it's not, but given the number of resets, I'm not sure.

The game will hold a max of 10 in the shiny buffer.

The fact you're being spotted each time does make me question the efficacy of that specific location, but your logic may be sound if you can pull it off standing somewhere else.

#

IIRC the game will kick the oldest out of the buffer to spawn new ones, FIFO. I could be wrong there though.

#

(EDIT 2 - seems to confirmed now that new shinies DO indeed replace old shinies if you hit the limit, so that's good news. Any new shiny will replace the oldest of the 10)

#

So you don't necessarily need to worry about the 10 slots, as long as you're resetting long enough in your next hunt, it should eventually overwrite the 10 slots if you've filled them up.

#

Also I swear eevry time I hunt that zone it has a shalpha lopp, every time lol

#

One benefit of using the Entrance program is that the spawns are cumulative, so the longer it runs, even if it doesn't catch the sound, there's a good chance it spawned. With the overworld reset method, you're counting on that sound pinging once, immediately catching it, and the game not resetting. Sure, it shouldn't miss it, but the shiny sound isn't perfectly reliable.

bench sit on rooftop better (hunting the entire wild zone + some nearby)

That works but I stand by entrance.

#

Especially since their focus was on specific mon, a less broad view

I'll probably go with the bench sit, since I don't have to worry about the limit though.

Being spotted doesnt impact anything to do with respawning

Eh, I stand by my theory until something shows otherwise.

I changed to bench sit up here and...hmmm, I'm not sure if I'm doing something right, but the game never detected the shiny sound after ~1200 resets. The shiny Pokemon do show up, but they don't get detected. The weird thing is that I can can confirm this method worked before though.

#

For the record, my sound settings are like this:

most likely it's because shiny are not near enough to trigger shiny sound. we don't have any control on that unfortunately

nothing spawns by that bench (having done plenty of sits there)
just have it run for a while and shinies will pop up they just won’t make the sparkle sound

walk into the wild zone and look down and you'll probably hear a few

The shiny almost has to be next to you to have a sound. So they are almost certainly out-of-range. I believe the wiki explicitly says this.
