I'm going through Shining Pearl to get the legendaries, and I was considering using RNG Manipulation when I have time on my hands and then switching to Automation when I'm either busy or sleeping. Wanted to ask this while I'm still working up to get to that point, just in case someone already knows: Can I be in the cave just before Spear Pillar and have "Walk Up" enabled so that it goes up to both Palkia and Arceus (whomever is available at the time)? Or is that not how Walk Up works in this case?

(I'm already guessing it might not work for Arceus, given the textbox, but I want to be sure. Plus I'm not sure if I can reset for Arceus like I can for Palkia by defeating Cynthia)

You're supposed to save just before the last walk up step that would trigger the encounter. Then check that box in the program. Why do you want to be all the way in the cave?

The cave right before is a noiseless spot for RNG manipulation, from what I understand. My ideal would have been that I can have Legendary Reset running for when I'm preoccupied, and when I'm ready to dedicate time to it, I can just stop the program and continue from there myself.

I think this wouldn't be a problem for Palkia, since I could just go back to the cave, but my main thought was Arceus, since the RNG Manipulation method I saw involved playing the flute when it's about time to hit the right frame.

But it sounds like Legendary Reset would require you to be right next to the Legendary either way?

yeah, it's intended to immediately interact with the mon to trigger the encounter.
