Does massdns resolve Servfail/Refused hosts

Of note, we don't make massdns

it's a general help question which I have some doubts on it and as well as shuffledns/puredns can be used with massdns as a wrapper also, so I'm trying to get how exactly massdns resolves w.r.t record types ( A/CNAME/NS ) and status ( NXDOMAIN/SERVFAIL/REFUSED/NOERROR ) to avoid false negatives

For Ex ;

If massdns misses hosts due to no CNAME/A record, but it still having NS record it might be a false negative as it misses potential NS takeovers
