The mining suit is one of the earliest variations of outfits you can unlock outside of the Raider set and has been in the game for a long time, but still has no variations. Miners are currently the laughing stock of the galaxy, seen charging Marauders in Panzer armor and a BAR with merely a pickaxe, despite the clear bravery it takes to sacrifice yourself trying to save others. We've been hitting these mining locations for a while, and resources like those provided by the mining teams would likely be some of the most valued in the ongoing war, but so far we've seen no pushback from the leaders of these mining coalitions.
Enter, The Foreman, a new boss that spawns in on Asteroid Mine and Frigate after a certain amount of miner NPCs are killed by the pillaging marauders, decked out with a reinforced hard hat with face shielding attached and a new body armor made for the treacherous conditions in these mines (so miners are no longer forced to wear leather jerkins into the mines), attacking you with what once was likely used for mining but has now been hand-converted into a brutal flamethrower to stop us from making him have to write any more condolences letters. Taking him down will reward you access to a special resource warehouse that contains valuable scrap items like diesel engines, lubricators, etc., raw crafting materials, and valuables as well as The Foreman's workstation, with art on the wall from a family he'll never get back to and taking him down a number of times will reward variations of the mining suit, patched, reinforced and worn down from years of work.
Basically, a new boss for the mining POIs that add more love to the mining group that exists in this world while also introducing higher tier armor that is not connected to the three empires, as well as boss variations to the mining suit already in-game.
