The devs said on multiple occasions that there will be no player market in the game.
Here some instances:

But we got a trading channel here on the discord.
i looked at those messages but they don't seem to contain a reason
have the devs ever specified why they won't be implementing a market?
Yup, they gave reasons but I can't find the message right now.
Let's just ask them.
@vale locust What were the reasons again why Marauders won't have a player market?
We do want that there is risk associated with trading.
Also the addition of easy and risk less trading options will make the game more attractive for real money trading which we also do not want to incentivise. (as in the buyer is guaranteed to receive the item and not be betrayed or killed in the process and therefore more people will be inclined to use real money options, leading to a snowball effect)
a skin market/cosmetics are a different topic though 🙂
trading in this case meaning contacting other players, meeting up in-game and handing over items, not the trading with the npc traders in the menu, correct?
in m case, yes
okay, i see your point, that's pretty cool. follow up question though: are you planning on implementing the ability to negotiate these trades in-game (meaning some kind of dedicated in-game feature that one could use instead of texting people through the discord server)?
an ingame way to set up trades without the need of the discord would be nice
Kinda like dark and darker?
yeah but instead of trading right there you party up instead basically
could give the ability to vote afterwards too, thumbs up if they're trustworthy or thumbsdown if they betrayed ya
gotta increase the ante by replacing the current currency with the coins, bank notes, bullion etc
please don't add a market like dark and darker, it deincentivize bringing loot and doesn't reward in game play
one of the reasons K! 😄 also @vale locust thanks for handling this one
what about having a trading board ingame though similar to the discord one? one that lets you team up to make trades ingame but would still need to go into a raid to make the actual trade
Even better, why not include some sort of flea market npc trader inside a map (like this sweet new raider town map we get soon) so if a player wana sell or buy high valuable he have to bring them in raid to the npc. The risk will definitely be there.
Hard to get the map you want you may say ?
Gate transmiter exist^^
How can i bring shit to sell if i'm already full ?
Ship stash finally have a purpose yay !
I don’t mean to be rude but it has been mentioned that flea market idea multiple times in this thread and it’s been said that it won’t really be happening. Just wanted to let you know!
problem though, we have no incentive to bother scavenging, loot or even use the slot machine, the money is too easy and safe
the economy needs to be tweaked
loot is needed for the market
and when you suck like me money can go down just as fast as it goes up
they could try but it's likely going to be too easy or too hard with acquiring money, both scenarios end up with little vendor interaction
also you need lot becasue you can't buy everything
I just donn't want ecveryone to run the same kit, there isn't a lot of variety of armor and helmet,
late game you're only using them for essentials, you could remove 90% of vendor items
they are all the same, it's not like dark and darker where you have different rolls on each piece of equipment
so good players are gonna be even more kitted
@neon creek considering that marauders has the raid missions which always rewards players even if they die, I could see loot based currency working in this case opposed to dark and darker
like barter ?
sure
though I would prefer something more original for trading but it's an improvement
I think at this point it would be too risky to implement a trade system as long as the economy is not figured out first, balance and quest system also
