Hey all, please be decent in your responses. I also agree that prone doesn't really fit this game and would come with many downsides, but it's someone mainly suggesting it because they'd like more movement options in combat. That's a pretty valid ask in my opinion.
This game doesn't need more movement options, if anything it needs the movement to be fine-tuned.
That would (in my opinion) fall under "more movement options". If leaning was smoother or if crouching was less on the poor registration end, it would in of itself enable more movement.
There's definitely a balance for this game that has to be struck between arcade and hardcore, and the movement is the very first place you can do that.
I have much less of an issue with the leaning/crouching mechanics (not that some adjustment wouldn't help) and moreso with the weird arcade-ish strafing and odd back and forth wiggling movvement of A and D key spam that this game allows, which I guess in my mind would technically be considered "less movement options"
I think it's alright where it is outside of maybe the speed. Strafing is very easily countered in most situations by backing off or doing the same to them (also shotguns since the buff). My issue with nerfing this to hard is that it'll make all movement really bad. Inertia in Tarkov is easily the worst part about it, and if the inertia in this game was any stronger to prevent stuff like this, I'd probably stop playing. It's not enjoyable to have your movement reduced so much, ever.
its the speed I have issue with. I don't want it to suffer the typical SIG over-nerf, but hopefully a small adjustment to the speed/mechanics of it would suffice. I don't want to see it get tarkov'ed either, but I do think it could use a tiny bit of tweaking
I don't think an overcorrection is the answer to most things in games, and I understand that getting certain things dialed in is a process that takes a decent amount of trial and error
wow this idea is terrible
