If you play full 10 minutes in raider mode, and die because you didn't extract, you don't gain anything (especially if not killed anyone). Currently you have to wait 5 minutes to get into next raider mode, and that 5 minutes feel a bit unjustified wait. If you don't know the maps and you are dying because you don't find way to extract in time, you're penalized with 5 minute timeout.
I have been told that idea of Raider mode is to help people who have lost everything to have chance to gain something and continue in normal raids, and being penalized like that feels going against that idea.
I'm almost feeling that whole time delay could be removed, if you are killed during Raider Mode, as another explanation for Raider Mode's existence has been to allow those who play with squad to go in Raider mode if they're dead and rest of the squad continues. They have chance to go gain new gear, so they could get back to crew once they extract from normal raid. But if you die in Raider mode, you are then penalized by timeout, as you have to wait your team to come back and be ready for next raid as you can't have second go with Raider mode.
After successful extract from Raider Mode it is fine to have some cooldown, as idea is that then you have gear to go into normal mode.
