#Return The K1 Assault To The Trader Shop

a fully kitted K1 was too strong to have in the shop, but I'd be ok with the original format of selling a K1 and mag at the trader, and keeping the stock to market trades or raids
It's one of the best ARs. It's tough to vouch for it to have easy accessibility without some repurcussions
whats the point of earning money in this game if you cant buy anything good with it? If you have a lot of money, you also have a lot of gear. If you can't buy high end gear then money is worthless
I can make a million easily in a day, as I know where its all at. Though there are now not any decent guns in the shop. The best players will always have the best guns, taken from everyone else. So the best players will have all the best guns, and the medium and trash players will mostly have the trash guns, leading to an unfair playing field. The K1 should be the 1 good gun, in the shop, IMO.
Honestly i think that like 80% of gear items should be buyable. Gear costs next to nothing in this game, after a couple of days everyone have millions with not a single item to spend this money on
Extraction shooter with worthless money is asking for dead playerbase
I am already bored with the update. All it brought was 1 map, a guilds kill house I wont use, and a grease gun that sucks. Now the K1 is gone, and the shotguns are OP, I doubt I have many more hours of play left in me, here for now.
Buff m50
M50 is trash, it needs to be fixed some how
yea same, im sitting at about 4-5 mil with stash full of everything and nothing to look forward to. No point in leveling traders because after unlocking thompson special - there's nothing better to buy
Same old Zero missions, that I have completed about 4 times. They keep adding trash guns, or attachments for trash guns, that anyone who knows what they are doing, won't use
M1 para is worthless now that it’s no longer in the shop. It was great as a cheap rifle to bring along incase primary weapon broke. I’m not holding onto an m1 i find in raid
It's always been a pellet rifle to me. I would use the SVT
No idea why its not in the shop, that sucks
That, and the extended mag for the Mauser. Why remove the extended mag and make it rare af?
I think Grubby’s proposal about making the K1 rifle available from the shop w/o attachments is decent.
I'm not how good it is without attachments, so can't comment on that. Yeah, the Mauser is hardly a top tier weapon lol now it's becoming worthless...
that's why I suggested this so long ago
Maybe prestiging could allow players to select to unlock more items from regular traders. For example prestige 1 unlocks the K1, prestige 2 the extended mag, prestige 3 the stock, etc.
Great idea to fight a stupid problem. Prestige system is a terrible idea at the first place, i don't think that trying to go around it is a solution. Trying to make it work will never end up working because it's a bad system. This game needs end game content, incentivizing economy and resource sinks like every extraction shooter. Right now it has none of it so it gets boring after 5 days
What i mean is that prestige system is a workaround. It's there to not do wipes. It's there because there's no incentive to play after 5 days. But all it does is resets your progress that you worked hard for and gives you a sack of shit in return
Would love to see some better priorities. Instead of adding a guild system that also doesnt reward you with anything - maybe add a hideout or a base that we can sink our money into? idk
“Money sinks” could be a good thread. I was going way off topic so i’m leaving it there
I wouldn't mind with k1 parts being scavenged only but the drop rate for the comp and stock seem really low
It is very slow, I don't think ive seen any yet
This wipe, I think it was even quicker to unlock everything the merchants have to offer. After a few days, if your inventory is stable enough, the only thing Marauders offer is PvP. It becomes an arena FPS with PvP and a few inventory management features.
I really like Marauders PvP, but I'm afraid upcoming FPS extraction shooters such as Beautiful Light (BL) will kill Marauders if they don't find anything to add to bring more "end game" features, since games such as BL will bring a more consistent PvP experience (no empty raids, all teams which spawn are there to fight).
One way to improve that would be to improve the PvP (for instance, allow guilds to challenge themselves on a map, each guild would start with ships - hence an incentive to buy better ships - and would either land in a POI or engage in dogfighting). Or to find a better progression without being like Tarkov.
You don't really have to worry about upcoming extraction shooters as 90% of them will have nothing common with full loot pvp extraction shooters, other than shooting and extracting. No killing players for gear, no looting, no inventory, no progression etc.
I've been researching them all and seems like 90% of them are just using "extraction shooter" to clasify itself somehow . BL will be an objective extraction shooter, so basically it will have no foundation that extraction shooters stand on. Kinda a game like Hunt Showdown, that will get boring after 30 minutes because PVP isnt rewarding and there's loot to fight for.
Same with all the others, these will be either objective extraction shooters or have some sort of another gimmick that makes it shit and boring.
As far as i know, there's nothing coming in the next 2/3 years in terms of proper full loot pvp extraction shooters
I know, I am well informed too. BL will have a quest progression systems, merchants and PvP is expected to be fun.
Not even talking about the fact that BL will run at sad 90 fps with frame drops and terrible frame pacing, obviously
My point was to stress out that, precisely, Marauders is not a good "looting extraction fps" since after a few days your inventory is generally stable and you have unlocked all what the merchants have to offer.
What remain is PvP. And some game will probably offer a better PvP experience.
I hope that you will enjoy it though, good enough pvp might make it worth to play
I'm not particularly a fan of looting. Good, intense and tactical PvP is what matters for me. Looting is more accessory. I really like the concept of objectives based extraction shooters. But I hate Hunt gunplay for instance. But those subgenera of extraction FPS are good when you want to feel like your are doing a "game"/"match".
I am also quite curious about Grey Zone Warfare, which should be based on loot according to the few information they have revealed so far.
For me, loot is what makes extraction shooters work in the first place. Without loot, extraction shooters are just default PVP shooters with extra steps. Waters down the extraction shooters genre.
It's not like i hate people making these games, but for me an extraction shooter is a full loot pvp game where you extract at the end or die and loose everything. Doing anything else and calling it an extraction shooter just because you extract at the end - is baiting
I don't think so. Just different kind of "extraction shooters", which all have in common this feature: you have to extract alive. Whether the main goal is looting, or performing specific goals before the other teams, don't change the fact that it is a FPS where you have to extract. That the first of its kind - Tarkov - is based on loot do not specifically define this genera in this restricted way. It's rather very subjective to call any other variations of the genre a "bait".
right now the tommy special is in the trader and its only slightly worse than the k1 in terms of headshot ttk. i actually like the idea of rotating guns through the trader every now and then to give some genuine variety to the game
wdym? you can use money to buy meds, ammo, decent guns and attachments. that's a lot even for a player with lots of gear
I am surprised how quickly traders max out this update. That could be more gradual. Tommy special before level 30 seems kinda wild. If they altered the ship system so they are unlockable persistent assets, like appearance, that would add another layer to progression. Imagine if our ships were part of our upgradeable kits, like they were in the beginning, where we could find a rocket turret in raid and attach it to our ship. We could upgrade from a barebones rustbucket w original small footprint to the new larger footprint, for example, and attach fins, shark tooth skin, extra boosters, machinegun pod, open/closeable doors inside, etc. etc. Then a ship-only map would be where it's at, with all the variety.
This game lacks long term progression in every aspect
Agreed. But I'm not sure what they could do to improve that. My only idea is to add features such as guild wars (match between two guilds on a POI with dogfights until the ships land on the POI).
But otherwise it really lacks long term goals. After only 8 Pirate quests we unlock everything, and doing quests become irrelevant in addition to unfunny (looking for chemical products is not particularly fun for instance). Other merchants do not require a lot of work if you know the game well enough.
Just needs more of a bonus for prestiging . When you prestigue, you should also unlock a new shop item to buy
Make it a crafteable recipe instead with a blueprint.
I think K1 + K1 Stock + K1 Extended Mag. would be fine, that way you get better recoil control and capacity but not the extra increased damage and recoil control from the compensator.
1.Well first of all, don't let players unlock everything in traders in 2 days. In other exctraction shooters unlocking traders often takes weeks of grind and proper challenges.
By the time we unlock some "okay" weapons, we already have milions in the bank and a lot better weapons in the stash anyway.
2.Add endgame gear to traders, so money gets a use, instead of being a useless number on a screen. Of course there should be some only craftable/findable weapons. But these should be a minority, like maybe 2 best weapons in the game, 2 best armours, big medkit and freebooter.
- Increase the price of items by x5-20 (depends on the items of course). Thompson special with attachments costs 15k. You can make 100-200k per raid (which means per 10 minutes). It's stupid. Making money is too easy, which makes gear worthless because you can buy 15 thompsons after 10 minutes, provided that you have unlocked it.
These 3 changes alone would increase the player retention by 3 to 5 times. People would get bored after a month, not 3 days. And these changes only take some number tweaking. Doable with excel and 2 days of time from a single dev.
Took me 5 minutes to think about it too. Obvious huge flaws in the core of the game loop. Should be ironed out in the pre-alpha stage.
This game will never get players if they don't focus on long term REAL progression and goals.
I 100% agreed. Merchants suck this wipe and I unlocked everything in 3 days (and I was not grinding the game). Items sold by the merchants are either unlocked way too soon (small first aid kit) or useless).
We should have more progression as to what the merchants sell and the discounts they offer. We could even imagine specific items sold only during a week or two.
As stated above, we need more guild features two, particularly an option to challenge an enemy team (or various teams) in a death match. And to have a leaderboard which would reset every 3 months or so. That would retain clans attention.
To retain solo or small teams (friends playing as a squad but without interest in the guilds features), they need to add more content and objectives to do, but fun objectives. I really liked the Prison's boss for instance. Adding a contested objective for each map, such as a boss or something fun to achieve or which promote PvP, is the way to go. Marauders would still be a looter extraction FPS, as opposed to objective extraction FPS such as Hunt, but it would bring some goals to be performed during raids which are not based on looting, but in the competition between players.
At last, they should improve dogfights. It is really underdeveloped now. Have different ships depending on the size of the crew, like in Sea of Thieves, with each member devoted to a role in the ship? And add maps, or even a different game mode, with a gameplay based on dogfights (attacking big Zeppelins protected by a fleet of IA ships, something like that, and we would loot the crates dropped by the zeppelins and ships once destroyed).
About more guild features. More guild features will be coming with the next updates like guild leagues and battles. We just got Guilds 1.0 with Guilds 1.1-1.3 on the way.
Do you have a source you could share on what's coming in relation to guilds?
It's on the roadmap to 1.0.
And on the small roadmap for 2023 there is also something called "Guild Theme".
I hope the "battles" are not what we already have, i.e. picking guild ID on bodies 🙂
I'm hoping for something more of a separate game mode like clan wars in Clash of Clans.
Something of note on your first point, having traders be very easy to progress makes prestige significantly less punishing therefore increasing incentive to do so
But what's the point of doing a prestige though? I generally do one per wipe to unlock a few inventory lines and that's it. Prestige does not offer anything gameplay wise.
In my opinion the sacrifice (no progression) is not worth it.
gives you something to do if you actually play the game regularly as opposed to the people who boot up every once and awhile
I have over 1000 hours in Marauders, so I play very regularly yet I have almost no interest in prestige. In addition to the few lines you get in your inventory, it's a good way to reset the game and start from scratch again when you are bored until the next wipe. But that's it. I would rather have a more punishing prestige system but a true progression.
That's only my opinion though, and I can understand that some players want to grind prestige.
devs said months ago they had some ideas for prestige to make it better.. hope we get to see those ideas in 2024 at some point lol
yeah, needs more to it, hopefully grubby's prestige trader idea gets implemented #1095451256354513008 and if the devs can get back into custom ship parts again, they could do something with prestige points there but they definitely need to get rid of the ship storage slot prices, that shit is insane
those ship slots costing as many points as they do is so dumb and not thought out at all

I sure hope it does
i just hope they do something with prestige sooner than later, would be nice to know if they at least plan to develop prestige in 2024
Ever considered buying ships?
I’ve been here in the pre-alpha stage there was little to absolutely nothing. You could scrap fire extinguishers for tons of resources like stacks of metal sheets
There was little to nothing
Only two raid objectives were Space Station and Asteroid Mine. Most weapons you see now haven’t been added yet.
Guild system is the hideout
Hunt Showdown is rewarding not because of the loot but because of skills and unlocks over time. That and the PvP is extremely rough and can take dozens if not hundreds of hours to properly get ahold of
Whole point of Marauders is to try to be an extraction looter shooter that is fun without it being a lifeless hour sink like other games. Problem with that is a lack of content for those who do sink in all those hours anyways
Marauders is interesting because it’s definitely the most similar to Tarkov in some aspects but is trying to be much more casual than Escape from Tarkov. Issue with that is a lot of extremely sweaty ex-Tarkov players are coming in and maxing out everything there is to offer in a couple days lol. I think the objective of the game is to make overall progression and loot easy but make it challenging to survive and extract in the process
should return it without attachments
we have the em2 my dude
much more balanced choice to put in the trader
I know
em2 criminally underused so i think it deserves its time
Obviously not, there's no point in doing so
No point in having a hideout where all you can do is test some weapons, it's more like a shooting range with extra steps
Might be rewarding for you, it's not at all rewarding for me
Plenty of point. You could use bigger ships as storage, use their custom escape pods, get to raid locations faster, attack other player ships
too bad ships are still useless
What would make them useful?
idk man, all I'm gonna say is that heavy frigates and capital ships are cool and all. but it's so easy to still shoot them down as a rust bucket cause of size
not to mention it's still super easy to just breach and kill someone even if they brought a good ship in
I think that’s the whole point
also fire extinguishers only heal based on numbers not percentage
so they're dogshit on larger health ships
True, they should really fix that
before considering a change that would buff the bigger ships though, they need to remove the ability to tap repair destroyed ones
