DNE Declares War on the United Allies

The United Allies have grown too bold. Sending their colony ships to clog up our space, sending entire battalions of marines to sieze the fortresses- they are encroaching on Marauder-controlled space, acting as if we don't even exist. This cannot stand. We will not let this stand. This day, the Dark Nebula Empire declares war on the United Allies! We will burn down their fortresses! We will eat their crayons! We will hijack their colony cruisers! We will steal their mustangs! We will bring the corps to its knees!

Today is the day to play your part in this war. DNE is placing a bounty on the head of every single marine. So get out there, put them down, and claim your prize. Today is the day for marauders to stand together! Today is the day for marauders to pillage and plunder! Today is the day for us to put an end to the United Allies Marine Corps!

Attached are the contest rules, contest rewards pool, and our promo art. The contest will go from 8/26 - 9/1. You must be on the DNE Discord to participate, but anyone can participate, including people who are not part of DNE.

The War on UA event is live!

And to celebrate that, DNE is doing a giveaway: The person with the most marine kills by midnight MST tonight will receive 1 free nuclear material!

Unfortunately, no one was able to claim this giveaway. But no matter- we'll have another giveaway on Sunday, to celebrate the final chapter of the competition. Until then, keep calm & kill some more marines!

Also, I forgot to mention: I found another depot token, meaning that every winner in the contest is now guaranteed 1 depot token! This 3rd depot token is replacing the silver bullion that was promised to the 3rd place winner, and that bullion will now be able to be selected from the rewards pool.

It started with an uptick in losses. The United Allies thought that the marauders clans might have just become especially active, but no- reports showed that the Central Empire and the Kingdom Alliance didn't face any increase in raiding activity. In short order, it became clear: The UA was being targetted deliberately, and they were losing. In just a week, an entire company of marines were lost along with five commanders, and at the end of that week the generals of the UA faced an shocking realization: This great massacre had been wrought by only 8 pirates. Over a hundred marines against eight pirates, and the pirates came out victorious. Just how powerful were the marauders clans? Could they actually pose a true threat against the great nations?

Congratulations! The war against the UA ends victoriously with the Dark Nebula Empire confirming the death of 115 marines and 5 UA commanders, with hundreds more marines unconfirmed! The Empire would like to thank everyone who participated. Your inglorious slaughter will be remembered and honored!

Of all those who participated, three individuals stand out. The Empire would like to announce that @pseudo cloak is the victor of the competition! We especially want to point out that they killed the most UA Commanders!

Our runner up was @echo oriole, who brought in the most qualifying marauder kills, clearing the way for our other contestants to go after the marines.

Finally, @grizzled plinth's efforts have to be recognized! Christorian singlehandedly delivered over 1/4 of all the confirmed marine kills during this war!

All of the winners should contact @echo oriole to select & receive their prizes within the next week. Thank you all for your participation, and we look forward to hosting more competitions in the future.

(To clarify, confirmed kills are those that were reported correctly so they could be included in the contest scores. Unconfirmed kills were people dming me "hey I killed 15 marines but forgot to screenshot it, do they still count?", which of course were not counted.)
