If the katana is too long then the Wakizashi is a medium length Katana. On a side note a Tanto is a dagger sized Katana.

TBD unfortunately. Though I suspect the Japanese text at the bottom of minimine isn't an accident.
Japan was a fledgling great power in WW1 so its not unfitting for them to be included at some point.

I think more melee bots overall would be cool but the melee boss should be one of the Miner faction.
