I hear ya buddy. What server are you playing on? I am on us west . . . And Ive never seen a 3 or 4. Only duos. I am always running solo 🙂
When I run into a duo . . . I just keep track of where they are and I try to pick them off from a distance. Just a high dmg weapon and pick one of them off from a distance. Then its a 1v1. If its a 3 or 4. Get back into your ship and raid the other map. Usually 2 full maps and a small map on every raid. Small map being merchant ship or mining frigate. Just pay attention to where people are going at the start and choose wisely where you actually raid 🙂 Good luck 😄

If you survive yes, if you die you should be able to jump right in again. But otherwise like @stoic lotus said it, do some salvage runs, play it safe so get in loot 2-3 rooms and get out, go to less popular maps like Mining Frigate or play with some randoms here on the discord.

I went to mining frigate as a solo for 15 flamethrower kills, only found another low gear solo, and a duo, as well as enough raiders to finish the task in 1 raid
