WE NEED MORE STUFF!! MORE GEAR MORE BUFF ITEMS MORE WAYS TO MAKE MONEY MORE LOOT WE NEED MORE LOOT!! Since meth and cocaine are in the game, I don't see why alcohol can't make an entrance.

Add alcohol to the game for usage in various avenues of gameplay.

💡 Exactly and specifically, what should be changed and how?
Alcohol can be extremely versatile that will undoubtedly spice up the game ALOT.

We should be able to find them in various appropriate areas of the map.
Multiple varieties should be available for this reason:

We should be able to drink alcohol for a good pain reduction, maybe debuffs could be applied as well like sway.
It's a well known secret that alcohol reduces your senses and ability to feel things along with relaxing the body. This is why drunk drivers are more likely to survive car crashes because their body is so relaxed that it allows them to absorb impacts better without breaking skin/muscle. Same principle can apply with bullets. A relaxed body will allow bullets to pass through easier. Of course maybe drinking multiple could stack the pain relief effect while having a slowly creeping debuff due to motor control loss.

Rubbing alcohol should be available as a an item for minor healing and/or crafting high level medical kits.
Always known to be used for disinfecting wounds.

We should be able to use alcohol bottles to make Molotov cocktails. [Bottle + Fabric]
Self explanatory. New throwing weapon, very makeshift/piratey, and good for area denial. Great memes.

RUM INFUSED CAKE
If Chocolate Spice is in the game, so too should there be Rum Cakes.

We should be able to find rare collectible alcohol bottles in the maps for trade/high-priced selling.
It's no secret that one way that rich people invest their money is in alcohol. This is due to the fact that as alcohol ages, it only shoots up in value. With aging it also produces a much finer and well sought-out taste. Since we are in the middle of an extreme interstellar war, it only makes sense that the alcohol game followed to allow people to cope with the horrors of this reality, as well as for keeping tradition alive or to just use them for status. Similar to Red Dead Redemption where there are a list of rare bottles of spirits out in the wild to hunt and collect for thousands of dollars, we should be able to find and collect rare bottles in game for these purposes. I'm sure some Market traders will definitely want their hands on this stuff too, similar to that one smuggler asking for biscuit tins for the CE soldiers. It can have different bottles of different values, similar to copper/silver/gold coins or rings. Should probably take a 2x1 slot.

Maybe a weaker implement of the napalm bomb could be the Molotov perhaps? Smaller aoe, less damage tic over time etc etc. Very much believe the Molotov and other alcohol related ideas in this thread are well within range for being in game and making it enjoyable lol

We cant be proper makeshift pirates if we don't have molotovs. Besides, have you seen what it takes to make proper napalm? [I know the full recipe]. The average joe in space likely won't have access to that, and even a raider guild would need to raid a heavily armed military factory for such.

I'm betting napalm grenades will or atleast SHOULD require a special crafting material. Molotovs on the other hand are way more accessible.

You basically just need any kind of benzene and polystyrene to make napalm so it's not that complicated.

Considering all the resources needing diversion into military actions.

Remember all the rationing that occured in WW1 and WW2.
Not to mention also that napalm wasn't invented until 1942 secretly by the US, and it didn't see more widespread public use until the 70s/80s.

Considering how our reality's circumstances were relatively much more peaceful that Marauder's universe, it's safe to assume it is NOT easy to get your hands on shit to make napalm, and most people don't know how to make it yet.

At best the major pirate guilds have raided UA factories by now and know of it's existence but they also know that these recipes require special knowledge and ingredients.

Wartime protocols would have extremely limited the dissemination of this information just to military spheres. Intelligence security dictates that every bit of special knowledge must be destroyed in the face of inevitable incursion, and every professional military has tried to follow that as well.

I agree that the knowledge about the production of napalm might be hard to get, but if it got out once I'm pretty sure it spreads like a wildfire. No pun intended. And about the scarcity of the ingredients of Napalm: fuel bottles are very easy to get and I bet something like fabric or other polysterene are easy to get too.

As for polystyrene, that stuff is not as easily available considering it is a derivative of petroleum I believe

which is all being diverted to ship and station fuel

No it would be a gross misuse of resources. Fuel is consumed in ungodly amounts considering all the ships in space. Military crates irl didn't come with packing peanuts either.

We aren't civillians in space before you consider that route. We're all people of war, so we don't readily have luxuries of peacetime available.

That includes styrofoam.

There are a lot of other crates in Marauders. And about the ressources: I find fuel bottles in every third to fourth crate so it ain't that rare in the MArauders universe. And the first use of polysterene was as lifebelts. But yeah the packing peanuts are a bit weird so we probably scrap that from other things.

Space Port is a civilian station, Merchant Frigate is a civilian ship, Asteroid Mine is a civilian station, Terraformer is abandoned, Prison is governmental and Colony Cruiser is just protected by the U.A. Marine Corps and not a military ship itself which only leaves Navy Outpost as a military station.

And Capital Frigate is military too.

Theyre all under authority and protection of military entities though. They control the resources on the station and rationing would still be in effect considering the bleak reality of constant overt raids by enemy soldiers or pirates.

No. Space Port isn't alligned with any faction. And on U.A. stations prison and asteroid mine were private security and no military personnel. Terraformer had stationed private security too but we don't know the reason why they were there.

The premise of this game is that we are trying to live by stealing these people's stuff. These unsuspecting people are engaged in a war that's lasted almost 100 years since WW1. Planets destroyed, supplies eaten up enmasse, many dead. Any civillians alive right now do so under the technological advancements of these empires that focus on military use and survival. Luxury research wouldn't be funded as easily and the resources are all being thrown to continue the wars.

Besides, all the benzene back then irl was being used in steel production too. Styrofoam didn't have a wartime application so it wouldn't be popularized as a standalone product.

Aka It wouldn't go into civillian hands to mess around with and discover makeshift napalm

Okay, so our final points of view are yours: polysterene wouldn't be available to make napalm by yourself and therefore the molotov would be the cheaper craftable option. Mine: Napalm Grenade will be craftable like all the other grenades since polysterene will be in some sort available. Seems acceptable to me and now we gotta wait what the devs will do.

Wasn’t exactly stupid. Giving their sailors a bit of alcohol helped immensely with morale (and they were extremely well trained, so it did not really interfere that much with their ability to load and fire cannons, and fight on the deck)

Alcohol could reduce pain but blur your vision a bit and reduce aim. Course it won’t do much if you just drink one or two beers but some more hardcore alcohol or a ton of it would really fuck up your vision

but yeah basically alcohol should be a cheap alternative to things like meth, aspirin, and spice, however it also has some negative affects which grow the more you drink in a raid.

I think the drink effect should last the entire raid with no way to cure it until after you get out. You don’t just immediately become sober in less than 25 minutes

with the addition of pirate first aid and bandages, I think the devs should add more crafting recipes for stacking stamina recovery items like your rum infused cake idea and pirate water, something simple like the alcohol + regular consumable would give you stack of 3
